It is a popular theory is that dogs eat grass to help with upset stomachs or gas. While eating grass can induce vomiting, fewer than 25% of dogs throw up after eating grass and evidence from pet owners suggests that fewer than 10% of dogs seemed to be sick in the first place before grazing.

Can't do them much harm. It rains all the time in the UK but we transport coil uncovered. Having said that, the difference is probably that coil never needs to be on a train for more than a few hours in the UK, since England is only a little larger than Ohio, Scotland is the same but is nearly all rural, Wales is small and Northern Ireland's on a different railway system.

There was only 30 cars of coil steel on that train which would be 4,245 tons if each car was maxed out. Each car should be around 140 tons each, the max is 141.5. On flat ground one of those engines could pull that train at 50 to 60 MPH. But the ruling grade could be the reason for that much power. We ran on fairly flat territory In most of Louisiana. With 1, yes one, horsepower per ton we could run around 50 MPH and make it over the Huey P. Long Bridge, that has a 1.25 % grade. That means for every 100 feet forward the bridge gains 1.25 feet in elevation. It is one of the longest railroad bridges in the world at almost 5 miles. It is just a few miles up the Mississippi River from New Orleans.
@paulbergen91143 жыл бұрын
@@billmorris2613 good perspective. I remember Conrail had some "hot" steel trains from a mill to a galvanizing line then to an auto plant. Of course the opposite was the MILW RD which over 3 winters struggled to get coil's off the EJ&E 80 miles to AO Smith where they made auto frames. Many days just in time delivery was a matter of minutes. One of my favorites photos is circa 1975 shot by a friend hoboing on the SP as 2 U33C climb the Huey Long bridge shot out a boxcars door in a hazy sunset. That bridge is some real US iron and almost every angle looks fantastic
@billmorris26133 жыл бұрын
Paul Bergen It’s a very interesting bridge. But a lot safer for the cars since it was rebuilt with three lanes plus a shoulder in each direction with their own superstructure. The new superstructure is 3 to 4 times wider than it was. The railroad part was not changed very much. Before the improvements the auto portion was just hung on the sides of the railroad bridge. With just two narrow lanes and no shoulders in each direction. When I would be waiting for a route off the bridge, up near the crest just outside of the superstructure, every time an 18 wheeler would go by us it felt like we were in an earthquake.

Cool catch on the doubles. That was a long train only to have triples pulling. I was expecting a DPU some where. Dogs eat grass to throw up only rarely. They need fiber in their diet to help digest food. That's why they eat grass. Check your dog food for fiber content. The older the dog the more fiber they need. Also, table scraps are the worst thing for animals. Will cause all kids of health problems. Take care and safe travels.
