Theory: Maybe Jax is supposed to be the AI from the book TADC is based off of.

When he runs towards the truck he also yells "I call shotgun" which is actually term used for the passenger seat in the cab of a car. So he was calling the cab passenger seat in advance.

@@carmandirda He was outside the truck when he says "I call shotgun" so he wouldn't have seen there was a shot gun there when he said it. The term "Riding Shotgun" is a term used from the days of the old west because the person who sat next to the driver in a stage coach or covered wagon would have a shot gun with them for protection.
