We have a 2022 QX50 Sensory trim in the household (I used to work for Infiniti and it’s a subsidized lease). It’s at a tick under 30K miles and I agree with everything you said. We just have a tan interior and the sensory doesn’t have all the crazy suede and it looks more cohesive to me. For the two screens we just leave the top on full screen maps in CarPlay and the bottom on the audio screen. Great car at a discounted lease or a cpo deprecated one but at MSRP the competition is just better. If anyone has any questions about ownership on one, please let me know and I can answer

I am thinking of buying a 2023 qx50 or 55 sensory or sport. how loud is the cvt? and what do you think as a long term car. I am retiring soon. Thanks

@@selwynmontgomery9926 The CVT is loud under full throttle but most normal driving you don’t really notice it. I’d suggest a test drive to make sure. Long term wise, if you’re buying used, ideally get a CPO because of the lengthy warranty but bear in mind this is a car that requires premium. I’d be more worried about the engine than the transmission personally.

A two year old, low mileage model seems the way to go. They are literally 1/2 off MSRP.

Absolutely! Once you dip into the $40k range and below this suddenly becomes very interesting.

When they get rid of the CVT and confusing double-screen tech setup, then we'll talk. I miss the "Japanese BMW" ethos, which seems to be gone forever.

Double screen isn't as objectively bad as it is just kind of pointless. Honestly, in a vehicle like this, the CVT doesn't bother us. And while we'd certainly be interested in a luxury SUV that prioritized handling and involvement, the truth is most consumers don't care, which is why BMW themselves are edging farther away from that ethos. If that's the thing you're after, buy a loaded Mazda CX-70 (more room and vastly better handling) or the Genesis GV70 Sport (more performance and feels much more special).

Lol she complained about the things no one complains about... Cadillacs also have 2 or 3 different types /colors of interior leather and suede it makes it special! I can't stand all black or all gray interiors boring
