I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from you in terms of becoming super picky and in turn super cut throat in curating a collection of pure loves… sometimes it’s hard to part with some of my fragrances but it’s so satisfying to sit back and know you have a collection of things that speak to you and that you absolutely love ❤. Jackie - About Coco Noir… I can appreciate you decluttering on the basis on not having enough formal occasions or environments to wear it. I have one place in NYC where I can wear those type of fragrances. And I do wear them. Like Noir de Noir and Carmina. But I’m careful on how many of those type of fragrances I will buy. On the daily, I don’t wear those “formals”. Even my beloved Delina Exclusif won’t get pulled for me to run errands.

I did start forcing myself to wear Delina Exclusif more often but I love her and she is never going anywhere. It is difficult to find occasions for the more fancy ones.

I have come to the conclusion that I can’t stand Mancera but Montale is more tolerable. I have several Montales that I still enjoy but I’ve cut almost all of my Manceras. There is something about the DNA in Mancera that just gets worse over time. The only surviving Manceras in my collection are Tonka Cola, Black Vanilla, Instant Crush and Wild Cherry. .. but I’m considering dropping Tonka Cola as well. I used to own 23 Manceras. Lol So that’s quite the cut. I’ve decided I’m done with the house. No more.

I can relate to having bottles of perfumes that smell identical...it's a bore and completely redundant, cox I could have invested in another bottle that will give me different experience....Have Intense Cafe, Roses Vanille and Delox and that's the order I bought them, thank goodness I have Tobacco Vanille to layer with and it gets me tons of compliment😀

I wish they all had to list the chemical they use for "musk". There's one that ruins so many perfumes for me. It smells like dirty dish clothes. So I probably will have to stay away from this one. I want a pineapple one. Lamar had the dreaded stink also.

Great video. I’ve recently worn Ameer Al Oud Intense and loved it but I’m in Michigan lmao. I can see where it would be way too much without the frigid temps. I love the fact that you’re a Yooper. I also have Rose Gourmand and love it, I did recently order a dupe for Gentle Fluidity Gold and hope I enjoy it. I can’t imagine trying to declutter at this point in my journey but I can see how you would have to with such a large collection. I have no where near as many as you and I have problems trying to decide what to wear sometimes. I have some that get neglected cause there’s not enough days in the week lmao. I’ve recently been using my perfumes in my diffuser and enjoying them that way as well. Thanks again and have a good weekend eh.

I find Ouverture nice but masculine, around the 2 hour mark, it's really nice, so I layer it with a sweet vanilla or a fruity whilst I use the sample Love the make-up look!! x

I have several Mancera fragrances and Holidays is on the chopping block. It's just too thick for me. The others are keepers. However I've had to get rid of three Montale fragrances. I really think it has something to do with the metallic container.

Crazy how our taste changes, La Vie Est Belle used to be my signature scent for so many years, but in the past couple of years I can’t stand it anymore (not even the flankers) I still can’t get myself to declutter it 😅 I love cutthroat you are with your fragrances, you’ve inspired me

it is the same for me with L`interdit, I also own the red one which I love and the original version is also not working for me, and I also agree with regard to Coco Noir, it is a good fragrance but very difficult to find the right situation to wear it.

No, once I decide I’m done with something I’m done. I rarely have regrets any time I let anything go. I don’t feel overly attached to things and I think that’s just part of my personality.

I have been decluttering some of my perfumes. I can't stomach some scents that I once adored. I'm going to keep a smaller collection of loves now so they don't go to waste. I ditched Rose Gourmand last month. Started to make me naseous.

Hi Jackie ! Nice declutter! ♥️ I have issues with By the Fireplace ( too smokey) and Ameer (something is "too in your face") too, and I have 2 cheapie recs. Star by Mauboussin is what's good from BTF without all the smoke + the delicious goodness from Bois d'Amande by Van Cleef. And Supreme vanilla from Zara, again the good parts from BTF but with emphasis on caramelized sugar. Some seem to have issues with the ink note in it, I don't. Worth checking out. Both are perfected, way more wearable and more femenine leaning versions of BTF. 😉. Oh, and you look stunning BTW ! ❤

I've only gotten into fragrances since early November, so "decluttering" is kind of foreign to me at this point. However...I'm no longer buying full bottles UNLESS I know I love it! I'm buying many more travel-sizes or decants, so that's something. I'm guessing I have somewhere between 35-40 bottles of full-sized EDP at this moment in time, and maybe 10-15 travel-sized scents. (I do have over 50 samples that I've accumulated but they take up very little space.) I went for 40+ years wearing my signature scent and I feel like I missed out on a lot of fragrances that weren't widely available, so I'm trying a few now...for historical purposes...since I'm a historiographer. As well, if it comes in a miniature bottle, I'm leaning towards those...because they're cute, and they take up less space. I can try a scent without devoting a lot of real estate to it. Do you get what I mean? I don't think I would begrudge a tiny bottle the space to look cute...but a 100 ml bottle is a whole 'nuther thing.

I didn’t declutter at all when I first started collecting. I just wanted to build my collection so I think that’s all pretty normal, and a good idea to start with small bottles.

I have to learn mercari because I have about 4 you mentioned that I too don’t reach for and they are just sitting. I’m trying to work with oeuverture. I’m kinda done with a few houses, mancerra and montale , creed,to name a few. I’m season with my scents, gourmands to me are more fall, winter, and come March it’s all florals for me, then come May or so I switch to fruits for summer.

I’m not sure if I’ve just struck out twice now and this isn’t the norm, but I’ve gotten 2 full size Julianna’s Perfume bottles and I find the sprayer / atomizer to not be the best on both. The spray seems to come out real choppy and splashy, and I generally just don’t like it… I’ve got to push down kind of hard to spray it too. It’s a shame because the actual scents are great / spot on for what they’re duping! But the poor atomizers / spray experience on my bottles really puts me off from reaching for them more.

I have Zara’s Rose Gourmand and it’s a 99% dupe for Montale Intense Cafe the purple one. I have both of them. Haven’t tried Mancera though. To me it doesn’t even reminds it of gentle fluidity gold mfk.

I know what you mean with the metallic notes in Montale fragrances. Could that be caused by the bottle? It is a metal bottle, right? To me, Mancera doesn't do this as much, and those are glass bottles. Maybe?

Wow, I wasn't expecting some of these. Like Coco Noir... Then again, one of my "boss lady" put together scents is Velvet Orchid and I think the last time I wore it in Spring 2023... (I'll keep my 10ml though.) I wore Ouverture to the grocery store 2 Sundays ago...🫣 It's kinda womanly and fancy, but whatever. I'll declutter in 1-2 months... I know in a few weeks I'll probably start wearing fruity florals and musky clean fragrances hoping for Spring. ☀️🌡🌷🌳🪻
