From what i have seen from A LOT of reviewers the chain will fade a bit after 2-3 weeks (but it will make it look even more real) in other words… The super Bright yellow you get at the beginning (from being NEW) will fade into a more natural gold look. Then it will stay that color for over a year. Recommendation is to NOT clean them with any gold cleaning materials. Since you have another metal underneath the gold it will react to it and fade.

@@J-Rod73I would say just regular soap and water with a toothbrush. But honestly i have never tried it. I actually bought an 8mm Jaxxon chain like around march. It is now Nov and the chain’s color looks good/decent. Not as bright as when i first bought it but not faded enough to make it look weird or fake. I don’t wear it often though, and i’ve never cleaned it. I will probably clean it tomorrow. I believe i paid $150 for it. So id say it was totally worth it.

I've had my 7 mm jaxxon gold on silver for a year and 4 months and it still gets compliments. Only take it off to polish it with a rag once every 2 months or so...

I wish mine lasted that long. You must take great care of it. Had I not of purchased solid gold chains, I probably wouldn't have noticed as much that the color changed cause the solid gold ones still look the same as the day I bought them

@kasheem1747 Jaxxons Solid Gold chains are overpriced. A 20in 7mm cuban is $5880 on jaxxons website where the same chain is $4060 on Jacoje's website and they weigh about the same. Jacoje is also way better than jaxxon in my opinion

I have 4 and not until I bought the 5th did I realize it was faded! About 8 months they will fade - Anyone saying otherwise didn’t do a before or after. Buy a new one and place it next to a 7-8 month chain - it will be faded

A little tip to separate thinly gold plated items from thicker plated sterling silver chains is placing them in a box for a couple weeks. Pretty reliable tests without waiting months. In the past manufacturer’s hallmarked items H.G.E., which stood for Heavy Gold Electroplated. This is also regulated. *So if suppliers and sellers don’t at least hallmark the jewelry, just always assume it’s a thinly plated gold layer! If they call it vermeil, the minimum thickness must be 2.5 microns, if it isn’t then they are not following FTC guidelines! Sincerely, TBBW🐺

@TheUniverse420 Vermeil is better than gold plated, so it should last quite a while. I just haven't had any luck with gold-plating when it comes to Jaxxon products, so I quit buying from them

If it’s a reddish tint coming through, that’s not silver that’s copper. I’ve never seen a gold Verme chain ever do that.

Baking soda and boiling water would take the tarnish off. This happened to my Chain and I used baking soda and it looks new again.

You should be OK, it's the fading you gotta worry about. I recommend putting it in a air tight ziploc when you're done wearing it

That's an Ice link chain on the far left, and everyone thinks that's a franco chain, but it's actually a wheat chain. I've reviewed four Ice Links on my Channel, 2 rose gold ones, a yellow gold one, and a two-tone yellow & white gold one, which is the one in this video. I was just talkin about this and your video popped up in my feed. U da man. They claim to be three times bonded but they don't use the word vermeil in their advertising which was a red flag for me. Almost seems like a way for them to get out of any accountability for not being 2.5 microns thick if that's the case. Also I've seen a lot of videos of them fading pretty bad I can only imagine if you wore it everyday. But I don't agree with you they have decent prices they basically charging triple the price for their chains. Almost the price of hollow. Supposedly they offer a free replacement chain but even then you're still paying double. I mean for example HB has a few five times electroplated options for third of the price. I think these guys are just great at marketing and most people buying from them and not doing any deep research. I had one guy tell me he believed that Jackson is the only one plating on Silver I kid you not. Lol

What’s crazy to me is as the plating is wearing off it’s turning red which means underneath is prob jewelers brass which that means they are lying to customers. They claim it’s stainless. If it was stainless it would turn silver not red.

Most people whose chains fade after a short amount of time do dumb shyt like swim in the ocean with it or play basketball in it. Keep it away from the elements and it'll last longer. None of my Jaxxon chains look like this. Put Windex in your soapy water to make it shine.

I have solid gold chains that I wear on occasion and that's what these budget chains are for .. plus I mostly wear silver and after 2 years my silver chain still looks fantastic.. @Willis-de5hx I did multiple tests on this chain in other videos, scratching, heat, and strength. This video is a product update video and this was my experience. Had I not had solid gold Chains and seen that they don't change overtime, I probably wouldn't of been so hard on these ones but I've had an even worse experience with Jaxxons Bracelets, those only lasted like a month cause I wore them almost every day
