R.I.P. brother, you will always be an inspiration to anyone that puts their feet on a skateboard and rides because you understood what it was all about, fun and getting radical. So happy you found the real meaning to life and made it to glory, see you on the other side

I'd love to see more modern skaters shred on different board types like some pro surfers tend to. It seems in surfing the newer boards arent necessarily seen as "better" but just different. Older boards are still radical enough to film some video parts with. Kolohe Andino blasting airs on an 80s twin fin looked sick!

We skated and partied as kids but he had some deep shit going on but always kept his head up. Skating one day and a kid walked in the park "Kenny, Jay died". It didn't hit me till I got home. Devastating, he had a good heart and a great skater.

Still really gutted he passed away. I kinda saw Jay as the fuel of skateboarding. No disrespect to Tony Alva or Stacey Peralta, both TOP of the game but Jay was the edge that everyone else dropped in from. He battled heavy demons but always seemed more grounded and was the cutting edge. Even Tony Alva learned from Jay. R.I.P BRO.

Haven’t skated in 40 years The Dogtown crew lit a fire in me back then I forgot how I was first introduced to there crew?? Surf Movie or the magazine but we immediately started searching for empty pools we could skate some were in yards that people lived in the house and we’d have a rotation of kids watching riding bikes around there were no BMX bikes you were cool with a banana seat sissy bar and high handlebars?? Can’t remember who made them back then Long Beach, N.Y. Representing I’m going out this weekend and buying a Z Flex board I can’t surf anymore do to a car accident and herniated discs but I just realized I could still skate!! At 67 years old
