I’m just gonna say he can win! He didn’t have to hit the high notes for me. His voice is seasoned. There’s this quiet weathered rasp he has that I love and he controls it so well. He just told the story and it was great! Then he gave us the range and high notes were resonant and controlled. Also, he’s stunning and play guitar. That’s the whole package! I’d say at least semi-finals with the right songs.

When he sang “I still see you between the blank stares” it just made me bawl my eyes. I visited my grandma when she was first diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and the moment that it hit me was the first time I saw that blank stare as I said goodbye in the airport. I remember crying for weeks thinking about that stare, thinking I was crazy. Until I talked to other friends whose relatives also have Alzheimer’s and they said that the blank stare is common. I guess it’s comforting to meet other people that also relate to that feeling of losing the person you love while looking right into their eyes. Thank you for writing that song ❤
