Jay, your songs are truly beautiful. I have been to your concerts in Dublin, you voice is plaintive.....and you are a troubadour, a lone wolf, an iconoclast. Jay, of all the songs you've put out, this is your most artful composition. The overall structure is familiar but the minor touches make a big difference in the overall impact. The hanging 2nd scale degrees, causing minor 9 or add 9 chords and major 7s give the song a sort of ambiguity expressed in the lyrics. Each section has a great melody, and the later verse develops that melody wonderfully.
