Honestly, to me this felt like they started out trying to make a joint collab, “Watch The Throne” type of album, and at the last minute they decided to call it his “debut” album. In music I guess there is some crossover with the underground or conscious rap but basically Jay Elec is on a different level with the samples, flow & meaning. Art House cinema would be the difference between watching Sin City and Avengers: EndGame - as a quick off the top example. He did have bars and bangers IMO but again that is all down to taste. On this album there are examples of that, but I would agree it is far from his best and he has shown far more potential in the past. Exhibit C and Eternal Sunshine... for instance. Amoung numerous other tracks, if collated, would have made for a better album. RE the waiting time it was a let down, but I'm grateful he put something out. Jay Elec is a top 5 rapper to me. For sure.

What it makes it worse on Jay Elec’s album is how long it took to come out. With doggystyle, Snoop didn’t take a whole decade to release it.
