This song makes me happy and sad at the same time. It brings me back to being 11 years old walking down the hot summer streets with my friends anticipating going to the pool later. Things were so simple and carefree back then. Now I'm 55, and things are so different. Got to worry about the wife and kids, the mortgage, bills, my job, investments and retirement, politics, sheesh. Wish I could go back.

I'm 61 now and I can still remember 1977, 78, 79, like it was yesterday. The best years of my life. So carefree and happy. I remember my thick hair, young dark skin, knees made of rubber and my thigh muscles being hot to the touch from so much energy. I remember my fingers would actually touch when I put my hands around my waist! Why did those years come and go in just a flash and now my older years of aches and pains feel like all eternity.

In the bible Gods promise from the very moment we were struck with the sin sickness we have had ever since, by our own actions of rebellion, is to Restore US ALL to our Perfect selves except INCORRUPTIBLE through the Blood and resurrection of His Only Son whom He sent because He Loves US so! Not JOKING! That's what Christianity IS! The end plan is living with Him on a New Earth with Heaven and God WITH US!!! Freer than we could ever imagine! With the power to do whatever we want and explore worlds and the depths of ALL beyond measure! Sound too good to be true?? LOOK INTO IT. Then throw it out of it doesn't ad up. But not before!

I listen to Yacht Rock Radio on Sirius Radio to and from work and on Pandora while hanging out in our pool with our neighbors and kids. Every song reminds me of driving in our car in the 70s early 80s. Never knew how much of an impact that music was on me at the time. Just driving with the windows down and summer breeze blowing through the windows. I am 50! And wish I was 8 again driving with my dad in the car going to my grandparents house. 56 here and so missing how simple and how amazing these days were growing up. AM radio, yes, no cell phones, no KZbin, no social media, no texting...you get it, the youth of today are spoiled, entitled, and clueless. This was a great time to be alive, the music was awesome, you had a paper route and could not wait to buy your next record. Simpler times they were indeed. I would not want to be a youth in this generation and so lucky to have lived in the 70's.

Gosh, I love this song. I'm a 56 year old with two grown boys. I look at them and laugh because they would think it horrible that when I was young, skinny, and with hair that flowed past my waist, I fell madly in love with a boy I met at the beach. We snuck off from our parents one evening and met behind a sand dune and stole a million kisses. No, we didn't go all the way, but I can still remember the smell of coconut tanning lotion and the salty air. Oh, gosh. I'm going to cry!

The 70's was, by FAR, the best era of music. No decade since, has had the kind of blend that existed in the 70's, between pop, rock, hard rock, folk, punk, funk, R&B, disco, soul, country, all blended together, and all shared by everyone through "crossover" success on radio, TV, and film.

Let us not forget the impact that Gerry Rafferty had on the music world back in the 70's. 1978's City to City, was probably the best album of that decade. Many hit singles on that album. Baker Street, Right down the line, and stealin time. These hit songs are still receiving airplay today. I would love to go back to the 70's. The beach; the surf, and of course, all the pretty girls. This song, in a weird way...takes me back to a college girlfriend. We were on Assateague Island...alone. Obviously we were dressed down in skivies. We fell asleep, and the ponies came and woke us up, literally nuzzling us to wake up. And then we ran around with them for hours just playing and chasing back and forth. It is probably one of the most fun times I ever had. My GF and I riding the ponies, and they seemed to enjoy. We ran into the surf with them, was like out of Black Beauty the movie. And I am not even a big horse person, and neither was she. And even though there may have been others out of sight, we were literally on an island with these horses/ponies, barely clothed, but playing/riding with them for hours all alone. This song always takes me back to that day for some reason.

Haven't heard this song since I was a kid, it's GREAT! Just listened four times in a row. 70's songs sing of sex in such a nice way, not like the "ho" filled tunes of today. "Chevy Van" makes a perfect two-fer.

I was surprised to see/hear this on GG's, too. Know the song well. From that era-- which was about fun, sun and boys & girls. Segues into some great memories. Small note: Joe Walsh's ripping-nasty slide guitar solo somehow missed the TV show cut. Weird. Take care.

I did too, Dean. Every night with the music on. My bedroom was to the wall of the living room and my parents would have the TV blasting and I could not sleep well. I would put on the radio and sleep so much better. Oddly, to this day, I sleep with my music on from my PC as I sleep. Old Habits never die away.
