I think this is a very good idea, especially considering the story possibilities afterwards. Remember that shatterspin requires a shattered soul meaning Jay might have a struggle on whether he can be a ninja again with a shattered soul, unlike the others. That's huge potential they should not miss.

Jay using Shatterspin would be sweet! I would love to see that battle between Nya and Jay not to mention Jay having that ability as like his own thing- Jay really doesn’t have many special moves or abilities compared to most of the other ninjas- he can fly with his powers and teleport with lightning but very rarely do we see that happening with Jay. If Jay got his own ability like Shatterspin not only would it add to his character growth/development but it would also make Jay actually unique compared to the rest of the ninja who will learn Rising Dragon or who have learned it in the case of Kai, Lloyd and Nya. I don’t know how Jay is supposed to use Shatterspin for good without the mask if Shatterspin supposedly shatters the goodness inside you- but I guess Jay could defy all odds and surprise us, wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened

That is a really good point. Lloyd has Oni form and rising dragon, the other ninja have rising dragon too, and I believe Cole has his earth golem form. So it would be really amazing if Jay were to have Shatterspin as his special ability. Not going to lie, Shatterspin actually looks cool despite it being used for evil so Jay having it would be amazing and he could use it for good.

The best and my fav character in Ninjago getting a arc that involves losing his memories and getting extremely OP with Shatterspin going to defeat the ninja that will mentally and physically destroy them ( Especially Cole and Nya ) that will immediately result in him being goated again after many years of his flanderization in the Wildbrain era ? I really really really want to see Jay become an actual villain and threath to the ninja. I honestly believe that Jay is either the second or third strongest out of the ninja. The first seasons of ninjago have shown that multiple times about Jay's character. Ever since the wild brain era though they kinda made Jay the comedic relief. So for dragons rising I really wish they utilise villain Jay to the maximum, not holding back because he doesn't remember the ninja. I'm a Jay fan have always been and I know most want Jay to be back on the ninja team BUT I don't want that. I want them to take their absolute time with Jay being a villain. And for them to have a story between Jay and Ras becoming very close and for them to have a kinda mentor student or father and son dynamic. I really dont want Jay to recover his memories for season 2 part 2 I want the writers to drag it and make Jay an absolute menace and a good antagonist. It would be a very good plot and honestly I hope Jay fans can wait a little bit longer for Jay to join the ninja team again after they complete his villain arc well up until season 3 part 2 maybe. Also if he does regain his memories I believe Jay will not be the same and that would be so good of a character development.

Honestly I think the “goodness” being shattered is more on just the doubts and holding back to not fully destroy your enemy rather than the actual goodness of a person. So in fights, Jay would go completely all in to the point he’d kill or seriously injure enemies which is something the ninja don’t really do

I didn't realise that about Shatterspin, that's something to consider. But here are my thoughts: Lloyd is half Oni, he has Oni form as well as rising dragon form. Oni form is the opposite of dragon form yet Lloyd can keep those two forms separate and he's not corrupted by Oni. So the same might happen for Jay if Shatterspin is going to be his special ability. He can keep his Shatterspin form separate from his usual Spinjitzu form and not be corrupted by Shatterspin. Those are just my thoughts.

Not a Jay fan, but if he does learn shatterspin, I don’t think the other ninja should learn it. Jay hasn’t really gotten any abilities or powers different from the rest of the team. Him not needing the gong/wolf masks would be a good idea as well. Also looking at that minifigure, the printing on the chest kinda looks like a source dragon symbol

Saw lots of people wondering how Jay would rejoin the ninja after shatterspin so here’s my own theory! (Copy pasted from a reply but I thought it’d be nice to put it as a separate comment: I think the “goodness” being shattered is more on just the self doubts or fear and holding back just a bit to not fully destroy your enemy rather than the actual goodness of a person. So in fights, Jay would go completely all in without hesitation to the point he’d kill or seriously injure enemies which is something the ninja don’t really do because of principles and whatnot
