he is not underrated... he was actually pretty famous in 90s and early 2000s. MTV used to play his songs frequently.... maybe he never held concert in US for at least 13 years (but finally he did this year) that makes his fame slowly fades

Most pop performers don't write their own music, it's all done by one guy using the same chord progression. Jay Kaye writes all his own music, which contains some complex harmonies and melodies not found in conventional pop music.

Why doe money make people respect people?. So fuk if he lived in the streets. He’s fucked now anyhow. He’ll go to sleep lonely. Hahahahahahaha! Money do t bring you happy dreams. Cheers brother. My name is Lorraine (Lori) Blaettner Linton, and I live in the USA. As an American, I must say Jamiroquai is the best music I have ever listened to in my life. I have turned so many of my friends and into Jamiroquai fans, as well. He worked so hard at a young age, and made something of himself. I don't blame him for flying, or just retiring into the things he enjoys. He deserves it. Well done. Huge fan!!!

I’ve been a fan of Jamiroquai since high school, and after a long gap, the song “you give me something” came to me upon waking up one day. I started binge listening to it and others I could sense that his songs are from a totally different dimension. Now I’m binging on “summer girl” and it’s just insane. I truly believe he’s channeling a divine dimension in his songs with a deep message. I recall reading Jay Kay had a near death experience when he was younger which would have made him deeply connected to the divine and spirit and this earth (even his old songs make sense to me now)... thank you Jay Kay for your genius and for your charisma and cool and hotness. You are hands down one of the most effortless, coolest guys in music history ever.

Right but would you act like a petulant child, brag about the value of your vehicle at the top of your lungs, patronise a female bystander, shout in her face, then aggravate and corner someone smaller than you because "they look guilty" to the extent that they spontaneously headbutt you? His music is subjective. "Genius" is ridiculous in my opinion. Jay Kay is technically very pedestrian, MOR jazz funk vocal style with limited range and dynamic. I'm not hating on people who like that however. His personality on the other hand precedes him - he's known throughout the music industry as a dickhead. One can only hope he's maturing with age... :)

i have not watched his interviews before (i think i watched some in the 90's actually, as i liked his early work) but i don't think anyone deserves the mistreatment and abuse a good amount of you have given in the comments below. whether of not any of you have fallen into things you wish you had not, cant you just understand him as a human being? he is someone who has gone through a bit and from what you all say, did not react very well to some things. but he's still a human being. doesn't he deserve your kindness for being that? what if he were your friend or family. wouldn't you rather root for them, worry about them, hope the best for them?

All these negative comments. It should all be about the music and Jamiroquai are absolute legends, but I guess in today's pretentious world real talent isn't acknowledged. Their sound is unique and broke barriers in the 90's onwards. Jay Kay is also one of the few artists that sound exactly the same live as on their albums. They have a huge following, regardless of what some of you are saying about his appearance. Don't judge a book by its cover!
