@@SPROCK3TMONST3R im thinking of riding street and park does riding brakes really make a difference for street riding?
@SPROCK3TMONST3R Жыл бұрын
@@blazebloxer9776 Although brakes aren't as popular as they used to be, I find More enjoyment using brakes for technical tricks. It's always better to start with them and take them off, then to try things the hard way without brakes first. If you're using your bike as transportation to get to the spots to ride, brakes are very nice as well. "Freestyle" means to do things your own way. But it seems like everybody has the exact same bike built. And does the exact same tricks these days. I have front brakes, back brakes , a gyro a freecoaster, and a Hoffman frame with a standing platform. I think the street and park riding from the late 80's through about 2000 was the best to watch! Jay Miron, Dennis McCoy, Dave Freimuth, Rick Moliterno, Brian Blyther, Mat Hoffman, ect.. But everyone's got their own style. I wrote brakeless for years, and when I put brakes back on, especially front brakes my riding became so much more fun I never took them off again. I say give it a shot and see if you like the technical riding that brakes offer. Nowadays there will be pressure from everyone to take them off, but I enjoy being a bit different than everybody. The most important thing is to have fun! And do what you like! Not what everyone is doing.

I'm glad Jay found a new career path that makes him happy and keeps him healthy, but damn I miss seeing his riding. Going to have to bust out some vhs footage of him after watching this :)

What did he move to? Do you know if he sold off all his Macneil rights?
@gonnowhere74 жыл бұрын
Makes wood furniture, which I was excited about because I'm into woodwork. He has a website jaymiron.com. You can also youtube 'jay miron furniture' and find some interviews with him. I'm not completely sure about his rights with Macneil but I do recall when he retired that he said he was parting ways with Macneil.

I really think Miron and Osato are the best from my era. Both absolutely shred on any terrain.

Sad we may never see Jay ride again. I know he said its because of his past injuries, BUT Hoffman and McCoy are still shredding. Hell RL.Osborn.and Josh White got back on it.

Jay left while he was still at the top of his game. It's hard to watch your favorite riders walk away when you know they're still capable of incredible shit, but also respectable in its own way. He makes killer custom furniture now...
