Jay Mohr on Marriage with Jeanie Buss + Vacation Recap

Adam starts the show talking about some of the holiday parties over break and reconnecting with old friends. He recalls cooking a couple of tomahawk steaks and shares an experience he had offering a dessert to his son’s friends. Next, he talks about taking his kids to New York and sitting courtside at a Brooklyn Nets game. Then he explains a few of the tweets he shared over break in a round of Tweetsplaining.
Next, Jay Mohr joins the show and Adam compliments him on his improved appearance. Jay explains why he and his new wife, Jeanie Buss, sleep in different units which leads to a theory Adam came up with back on Loveline. The guys also talk about KZbinrs and college football names.
Lastly, Chris reports the news about Harvard president Claudine Gay resigning and Mark Zuckerberg building a bunker in Hawaii. The guys also chat about Jay’s experience working on the movie Picture Perfect and what Ed Begley Jr.’s house is like.

We were on 46th Street for the ball drop at Times Square about 20 years ago, and they block off the blocks as they fill up, and it was like 5 or 6 PM, and my friend and I looked at each other like, "This is dumb, not standing here for 6-7 hours for this stupid ball." I lived in Hell's Kitchen, so just a short walk from there, and we drank in my local pub. Lots of fun and much warmer. Didn't feel bad about missing the ball, haha.

Omg Adam we are kindred spirits!! I am 48 and going through early menopause (long story). My point is I have hot flashes so I sleep practically arctic! Winter is Windows open, fan going, sheet and a blanket. Summer, it's the fan and A/C about 67°. I've always loved a cold room for sleeping! 😁

The maintenance guy for my building was fixing my A/C, set it to 66, and said something that I'd never considered which is that guys like it cold. And I do. I need the ceiling fan on and turn down the thermostat to go to bed, even if I feel cold I like that I can add some clothing to feel warm and cozy. In college I shared a 3 bedroom with 2 women and they insufferably set the thermostat to 75+ in the winter. Don't know what it is, maybe we like being cold because gives us a problem to fix, I've read it's something to do with muscle being less insular and consuming more energy, but it's true.

Dude, back in the early 2000's for about 5 years I had to fly from Ohio to LA for 3-4 weeks twice a year. I never checked a bag. All I had to do was look decent for work. I could pack that carry-on with a week's worth of all clothing I could possibly need. Every weekend I would use the hotel laundry and iron, and wear the same shit the next week. NEVER checked a bag.

I worked as a land surveyor for 6 years. At two different companies. Once company had these great coolers with a spout at the bottom and an ice machine, etc. One company had nothing, but you could bring your own. But in either case, no one ever actually carried water away from the truck. There was too much stuff I guess. So if you spent the day, or big portions of it, too far, it was tough.
