Hi Hurraira, tbh I have been away from the Philippines for almost 24 years. Guilty that I have not listened to OPM for that long. SB19 opened that for me, and wow and OMG, my Filo heart has been opened to all these beautiful voices and artists from my own country. And for the whole of the 5mos following SB19 wasn’t able to move on and listen to other artists. Not until I opened myself to hearing other artist as you have. Omgggg I came for your K-pop reactions, but you’re also falling in love with Filipino artists and PPOP! Yesssss I’m a proud Filipina! There’s so many insanely talented Filipino artists and I’m glad you’re checking them out! Especially THE KING OF FILIPINO R&B JAY-R!! His vocal range is insaneeee and HONEEEYYYY VOCALSSSSSSSS!!! I recommend his collabs with the QUEEN OF FILIPINO R&B KYLA! They were a duo and possibly did have mutual feelings/relationship at some point, but they end up just being friends instead of pursuing a romantic relationship. I heard he did try to court her though, but maybe wasn’t ready at that time or not interested in him romantically. But yeah they had some great collabs like “BACK IN TIME” and they did wish bus together and sang “UNDENIABLE” they still have that spark and chemistry whenever they sing together despite having their own respective marriages.

A lot of really excellent Filipino singers cannot break into the US market or perhaps they don’t care to. Here at home, they are given the proper recognization and deeply appreciation and more importantly, a life and a comfortable one at that. Our gain and their definite loss.
