Some creative feed back: Good short! I liked it. Even thought the story wasn't that original I just liked the voice of the driver and the mood. But there are some things you could improve. In the beginning when the girl arrives and you have the two reverse shots. You have a wider shot and a closer shot. It seems that the Wide lens full open is a little soft. I would check you lenses when they are full open to make sure that they perform perfect at full open or at least be aware of the softness if you want or can avoid it. I say this because we are introduced to her with the wide lens and because its soft if pull me out of the film as I am wondering why is she not in focus. The focus is a little off sometimes so maybe practice a few times the walk or movement the actor is doing to be able to stay in focus. Always be careful when using a closer lens when full open. There is a movement that she moves slightly forward and the focus shift to her hair and away from her eyes. Car shots are really difficult. Sometimes what works best is if you find a way to attach the camera to the car in a way that you won't feel so much movement. The best is to have loads of gear to do that but that can be expensive but maybe just using a piece of wood and something to attach it to the camera might just work. I can see that the roads were good and you didn't have too many bumps but sometimes at important moment you should watch if you have a long enough piece of road or if you have to make another take to make sure that you don't have shaky car shots. Also, while we drive we never have the inside car light on. It isn't a realistic thing while driving so I would or turn it off and allow the light from the street to light the subject or try to attach a small light from the outside towards the inside. You could still use a light inside but maybe make the light soft so that if feels a little more realistic. Something that might or might not makes sense about lighting is: ALWAYS SHOOT FROM THE SHADOW SIDE. If you understand what I mean by that you cinematography will improve a lot. The moments when the drive and the teenager just start talking about advice the light from inside is a little soft or maybe you turned off or you are blocking it with something which makes it more believable but in the beginning the light is so hard and so bright that it feels fake. But overall nice short. Keep working at it!

Ursa mini is a wonderful cinema camara for professional style filming but down side is it doesn't do well in low light, so proper lighting is crucial. All in all i want 1 for my movie.

i think the story would come together more neatly if it was made clear that the kid's name is jay rosario in the beginning. if it was mentioned i definitely missed it. i saw that "jay" is the title of the movie, but for the last shot to have punch, i would really need to already know that the kid's name is Jay Rosario too.

Now you may just be a harmless guy who's english isn't very good, and that's just fine, but you may want to clean that up so the people don't see that you're trying to rob them from a mile away. 🤣
