I have a daughter the same age as Jay that went in her first holiday with the girls when he was missing. I couldn’t sleep with worry I can’t imagine what his family is going through. I lost my husband when I was 26 after us being together since we were 13. We had a daughter she is Jays age. I cannot imagine the pain. RIP Jay you can now dance with the angels and I hope your family find the strength to get through this and get the answers they need to try and carry on with their life without you but with 19 years worth of memories that will comfort them ❤❤❤❤.

It’s too common to hear something bad happened to someone after a night out where they got separated from friends. Promote the idea that we all go out together we all come back together. If one person is walking we all walk. Or at least put together and get them a ride too. Whatever the case look out for each other. Such a tragedy. His poor family.

I agree, Safety in Numbers, even on a night out here in the UK. If one of us DID want to go home we organised a Taxi or rang a parent for a lift or we all went home. It is the golden rule or should be when abroad, all stay together and a temporary argument because they weren't ready to go back to the hotel is nothing compared to all coming home safely.

My opinion it looks he was still drunk from the night before..cos the guy that gave him the lift at 5AM all the way to his place and he leaves at 7:30 am it was too soon to get well sleep. He was dehydrated, confused fallow his instincts that got him there...maybe wasn't feeling well and felt 😢 R.I.P This a call for all the young people that travel around for holidays...never ever left the side of your friends and always carry your phone full of battery and carry a bottle of water everywhere. Just my advice. Keep safe folks

It was actually quite some distance away from the phone ping location where they found him. There's an entire 360 degree arc of potential directions he might have headed from that ping location, with literally hundreds of not easily accessible deep ravines in all those directions, most of which are difficult to get to and have no clear view down into them. They might have surmised a rough approximate direction in which to head for a search from that ping, but it's still a lot of dangerous terrain to cover which one would have to proceed slowly and carefully over. Frankly, with that in mind, they've done well to locate him in just four weeks.

It's not a Hollywood movie where a ping is zoomed in with editing. I mobile tower ping in a rural location gives a wider location arc and the searchers had to scour all that area first. They even stopped briefly when lists said they saw jay on a yacht, had gone back to the UK, and was seen watching football somewhere

Have you seen the landscape around there?? It's rugged, it's a mountainous area, having natural plant life that can grow anywhere. Mountains do tend to have steep sides, which are rock and loose stones and baked dry sandy soil. It's a wild area.

Although a legal adult it takes people a lot longer to fully mature. At this age young people are venturing into the world and doing all those firsts. Unfortunately most at this age will not be fully aware of all the dangers out there also. After working with a lot of young adults in a supporting role I get to see all these transitions. It can be a beautiful time of life but it can also be a time of worry especially as young people are making their early decisions and choices. I feel so sorry for him, he clearly booked his trip and looked ahead to having a great holiday. Not knowing that this was going to happen. If anything positive can come out of this tragedy, then young people should learn that it’s never good to part from a friendship group. Safety in numbers.
