I wasn't raised to be a Christian and had a hard life even when I was a kid but had his hand on me and fishing with my Grandpa was awesome. I didn't have many friends being girl that liked fishing and reading. On the boat I could do both. Thanks for your beautiful music .

My grandpaw had an old Jon boat, when I was little. He offered once to take me but I was too scared of that river to go. For the next years he got sick had never got to go fishing with me in that boat. He passed away 1 year ago life's been terrible without him, but that boat motor is what keeps me going, it just brings back all the old memories. Love them while you can.

My deepest condolences. I'm 54 and growing up I had my Gramas. Both of my Grandpa's passed long before I was born. My Pops dad died of injuries sustained in the Korean War aka The Forgotten War. Itv was many years before his body was state side. He left my Nana with 7 little mouths to feed. Although I never met him, he will always be my hero. So I hope that every time you go out in that boat, that you feel the presence of yours, with you. Blessings and good health from the TN Smokies 🕉

I’m dedicating this song to Tyler Bradley Dupuis ❤ who recently passed away February 12, 2024 (born April 3, 1990)! Tyler loved country music, and fishing, but most of all loved his Grandpa more than life itself, and always talked about how he missed him, going fishing with him, and had hung his grandpa’s favorite Fishing Lure above his entrance door like it was his Good Luck Charm! Tyler was the man I loved dearly, who had a hard outward appearance, but underneath that exterior, he was loyal, sweet, honest and kind, was a protector and defender, loved with his whole heart and he let you know it! Ty, I will forever Love you, holding our memories deep in my heart! You were like no other! Sending XO’s to Heaven for you 🥰💋💕

Aww, sweet. Mine was wild and tough but very affectionate behind closed doors too, born April 4th and passed on August 21st '97, age 41. His heart broke from the world being so harsh. All he kept saying was it was eff'd down here and he wanted to "go home". Then one morning he said "Babe, I just dreamt of myself in my own coffin. Mom and Clarence are coming to get me." After 20 years in his half-Cherokee family, I knew he wasn't lying. I came home from work that night and found him... in the shower, with the cats screaming bloody murder. It gets better. But you'll never forget. ❤️🩹

Damn… my dad died Christmas Eve 2022 from lung cancer and I took his old boat and motor that he and I used for decades to fish. It was a dark green, he used to call it “The Pickle” so I took the boat and redid the flooring and carpets and re painted it with “The Pickle” on the side and I swear the fish get nailed in this thing

@@ajastokes4760 I’m so sorry to hear that… if there’s anything Iv learned from losing my dad, it’s that everything really will be okay. I always dreaded the “phone call” and always wondered and tried to prepare for the news and how I would react. The sun will truly rise in the morning and you will have beautiful sunsets, even if it does seem like an emptier world, you will be okay! Take care of the ones you love and always tell them you love em… they won’t be here forever. Thanks for your comment and I know we’re strangers but I really will hope for the best for your father and your family.

i found myself crying and hugging my old rusty tackle box that me and my granpa painted together when i was little.. he taught me how to fish and boat and i miss him so much since '09 when cancer took him from us. I cry here, wishing my other grandfather was closer so I could see him again. Family is everything, but I still can't get myself to forgive my Father. I hope I can come around to letting shit go before it is his time and all I have left are memories and what if's.

This makes me laugh thinking of my wonderful Father. He passed away Christmas Eve 2006. He was my best friend, fiercely protective of me and my daughters even though he was a paraplegic and could always tell if I needed his shoulder to cry on or his goofiness to make me laugh. I miss still so much in everything I do and I do hope Heaven exists so that he is up there with my Mother, watching and waiting for me to come see them both. (My Mother died suddenly when I was 3months old). Anyway, this song definitely resonates well and I can picture this guy hitting it big. Great voice, nice looking and songs that can touch hearts and minds. He's the total rising star package. 🎶🐦🇺🇸

When i was 3 and 4 my dad (was a contractor my entire life til he passed) and me built a wooden boat out of lumber at his shop- The place where we kept equipment, skinned deer, kept our safe, and spent alot of time- but we also built things there and this boat we painted blue like on the flag and it was latex to give the boat.a little.extra water proofing on the outer hull-i recall him telling me when i asked why we painted it blue and not green which was my favorite color(we had no green, latex paint lol) and he explained what we had was what we were using. And we used it until he had saved up enougj and got.us a 18ft aluminum john boat we used after it but i loved that wooden boat, and that my girls called my.dad pawpaw the last years of his life and the fact he wore the title pawpaw so proud because my girls had made him so happy is something i cherish so much when i hear anythjng about a pawpaw, grandad and so forth This song in particular gets me
