You inspired me a lot previously to go and plant some covers in some lease pastures i had that had poor soils/forage. its been a super wet winter here in NC so I ended up grazing some of them much earlier than expected to help with the mud issues but I have been able to move them off in hopes that they will come back and help regenerate the soils. At the same time you make me want to go out and buy an extractor and just spray every acre I own/lease with these motivational/information filled speeches. Hope 2023 is a great year for you guys and you keep pushing your message through to the world. God Bless!

I love you, man. I'm so glad that you go out there and speak without knowing how to pronounce the terms perfectly, and without being hyper-polished and rehearsed. It tells me that you have a passion for the content; that it's about the message and that you aren't out there trying to be a celebrity. Stay simple, true, and a straight shooter. Like the Lord said, "let your word be, Yes, Yes, No, No, and that which is more than these is of the evil." Also, guard yourself against the corrupting temptations that will come with your success. "Seek first the kingdom of God," not clicks, views, or money.

Great talk. Regarding cover crops using moisture, I think that when Jimmy Emmons tested it he actually found higher moisture levels in the soil with keeping cover crops on the land than having bare soil. It kept down the evaporation, but I he also found that it probably helped capture morning dew and other atmospheric moisture even when there was no actual rain. So just another reason to use covers!

Jay nice one! I could not help but notice on your soil analysis report that not a single nutrient in your soil report is showing something lacking. Nothing is a zero. The nutrients never disappear. They are simply replaced by more nutrients from the bed rock below. I did notice that the Calcium to Magnesium ratio is 1.7:1. A 7:1 ratio would be ideal as there might be some compaction with the clays when it is lower and it might be a little more difficult for the biology to get between the clay colloids to leach the nutrients out for the plants without flocculating the clays.

So on the foliar/tea application. The tea is too thick to run through a sprayer as foliar?? Eeek

@@youngredangus6041 bummer. Very little irrigation eastern ks. Sounds like foliar spraying is not a possibility. I’m guessing Cory Miller and the other guy from Mt was spraying just extract then in their videos of foliar spraying.

@@southernblues I want to add that water quality is also key. If we irrigate with tape water - John Kempf sayed that the carbonates which make the water hard are also hindering the nutrients even in compost teas to be absorbed by the bacteria's or by the plants. Because the carbonates and bicarbonates are extremely binding to those nutrients. Therefore John Kempf advised everyone to invest into water filtration systems and in the end he watched farmers cut down at least half of their spending's on fertilizers due to the good quality water (rain water will do the same but pond water has to be tested first). Maybe this is even more interesting for you. You have small amounts of water so you even more want to increase the quality of the water. I think water is the most important thing for our soil.

Therefore we also need quality water for irrigation of our composts so it will mature faster. BUT I know everyone of us can only do that - with that - what he/she has.

Why do they tell farmers to destroy their crops if plants produce oxygen and take CO2 from the air?????

It's weird that the introduction of Dr David Montgomerys' book, 'Dirt, the erosion of civilization' is edited out of the narrative. There are a few interesting vids of him discussing that very topic
