Jayz is literally the first rapper in songwriters hall of fame so get real Nas lyrics are understood at first listen Jayz lyrics can literally take decades for staunch hiphop heads to decipher Now the type of subject matter you prefer is your prerogative but when it comes to lyricism, Jay is in a class all by himself

To hear stories like this is very interesting. I was a Rocafella fan in high-school. Jay-Z my favorite rapper,Beanie Sigel one of my favorite rappers too. Rap was so competitive and great to hear back then. Beans is nice and very underrated he a dope M.C. Always heard Jay didn't right same with Biggie so I can see why Jay would wear Big's chain while making an album it was inspiration. Salute and props to Beanie Sigel for sharing these stories 👏 🙌.

So the hook of “lyrical exercise” (breath easy) from blueprint 1 is about Jay teaching beanie how to write without paper? 🤯 “ one(one), two(two), three (three), four (four), 🗣️BREATH EASY!”

Actually he stole that whole shit from Oskino. There’s an interview where he tells the story. Jay took a lot of shit from State Prop. When he rhymes like he’s whispering, he stole that from Young Cris. Not to take anything away from Jay - he’s still top five dead or alive

First song I heard with Beans was the feat with The Roots, "front row seats watchin Iverson" verse was one of the hardest hip hop verses out and had the world checkin for him. When he signed to Rocafella his verses took a more rap path then hip hop. This gives clarity to that. Thanks for sharing. One love
