To those who don’t Overstand why Jay Z is being inducted. Do you your history. look beyond the instruments used and the style of vocal performances and ask yourself. Why he does what he does and why does all of the inductees do what they do ? what causes his music ? It’s the attitude. The attitude that is born in Black African American culture. He explicitly said his Hiphop hero’s were authentically themselves and he adopted that philosophy. That philosophy is Rock n roll and is Hiphop. The attitude, the cause is what unites all the inductees. Not the type of guitar or the machine used to produce the music. Look, I know that Jay-Z is a very iconic artist who has done a lot for his genre of music, but he isn’t Rock & Roll!!! Same with Dolly Parton. I love Dolly Parton and I think she’s incredibly talented but seriously guys, she’s country!!! I’m sorry, but until the bands Styx, Boston, Foreigner, Kansas, Supertramp, individuals like Joe Cocker, and many others get into their rightful places in that pantheon of artists, I just can’t consider the Rock Hall to be anything but a sad excuse of its former self, pandering to the younger crowds in a sad attempt to look for relevance while ignoring the actual talent they were meant to celebrate in the first place.

Little Richard was the one whose sound and piano playing style laid the foundation for rock and roll. Tutti Frutti is one of the best rock and roll songs ever created. He deserved the same success as Elvis, but racists like you stopped that. Little Richard was the true king of rock n roll. It is a genre of music from rhythm and blues which came from black people.
