man his content has changed so much...this is like a song from another time
@LogicbyDesign10 жыл бұрын
Your right it literally is . This is almost 20 years ago brother (1998) the music and content was completely different. Music now is purely for entertainment back then out music wasn't just to listen and dance to it told amazing tales of real life situations and struggle, music that spoke to you sorry I'm one of those 90s kids so I tend to get passionate lol.
@bigu23610 жыл бұрын
I'm a 90's kid myself I understand. I think its more than that though. I think it has a lot to do with the evolution of rappers. The closer they are to their humble beginnings, the more real their content is. I see the same thing with J.Cole and Drake. Great mixtapes in their early days, with content focusing on the world rather than themselves. Also less singing and more rapping. As rappers become more famous, and their lifestyle changes, it's hard for them to keep rapping about where they grew up, and it becomes something else. They also try to get too creative and change their style, that's why you see more singing, and less rapping.

Look at the way Tony Montana treated his sister...He played her close and didn't want her messing with anybody doing what he was doing, Jay Z almost referenced the same behavior too his friends sister that he was rapping about in this song. He even used a line from the movie where Montana's man was like we shouldn't do this, and used Montana's line where he was saying "Won't you date a lawyer, a doctor someone with a PHD"...Just a few Points Of Many
