I used to live on 371 state st and owned the bogeda on the corner of bond and state. I remember Jay before he was famous . He would buy roll ups and hero sandwiches late at night . I remember his cousin and him with the polo ,Hilfiger and gold chains . What a flash back ,he blew up big !

The story is good but its sucks because its gentrified and blacks are too marginalized to afford the next cost of living. Anyways the Russian owner didn't hesitate and need Jay to persuade the people to sale so his 2/3 of 1 percent stake in the Russian company would flip and be sold out of partnership.

Did y’all hear what he said? “I knew something wasn’t right about the things that we were doing. My conscience was very alive.” He made the choice to go legit and leave the street life. How can you not respect that? Many drug dealers would get locked up, only to go back to doing the same exact thing when they got out-not learning anything. Jay was a smart one. #Inspiring EDIT: Thanks for the likes and constructive dialogue. Y’all please STAY SAFE and God bless.

I’m born and from New Orleans but New York is an amazing city. Wish I could’ve experienced the New York in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, just the aesthetics of then old buildings, the 5 families of the Italian Mafia, Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, Mobb Deep, The Lox, Diddy and a lot more just naming a few. Just a unique place. So many famous and unique people came from NYC. The city that never sleeps. Love New York and its long history 🗽♥️

I don't think people realize how significant this moment is tho. 560 State street REALLY was jay's old stashspot. Straight FACTS. Jay had a large duplex penthouse style apartment in that building. He had Ty Ty and his cousin B-High living with him. There's a video of Memphis bleek talking about jay's crib during his hustling days and how decked out on some luxury shit it was. There's also a video of Cam'ron talking about jay's crib at 560 state street before jay made reasonable doubt. See here, go to 21:18 when Cam'ron talks about first meeting jay and going to his crib with Dame - kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2OUg4Oqlsl2h5I.
