The actress you saw, in the beginning, was not the one in Puthan Puthu Kalai. This is Late Kalpana didi of Puthan Puthu Kalai actress Urvassi. Kalpana was a promising actress who did mainly comedy roles and made a revolution in doing such roles in the early80s and 90s when ladies were not that active in performing humor and she took it to a next level and inspired many actresses to perform humor. She passed away a couple of years back.

The first woman in the beginning you said as his Co star. You just mistaken. Its Kalpana the one who commit suicide (Mary) in the sea in the movie Charlie. His Co star in puthuputhukalai was URVASI her younger sister. When both of them aged they look much similar. But kalpana is no more she was a great actor the one seen in the beginning.
