"So says the slave to the free man" is such a raw comeback. Of course the tau are still authoritarian by irl standards, so Kais probably isn't /that/ free, but he is right that the tau have far more personal freedom than any (non-Chaos) space marine, even a captain.

The reason why Kauyon is so good and popular in multiplayer is actually upgrades for fire warriors. They get terminator class armor (by in-game mechanics i mean) so they take much, i mean MUCH less damage from any source, and with that ennormous range upgrade just the fire warriors can destroy virtuallty anything, and that Kroot dudes on top of kroot gorillas are very good at tanking for them. Still Hammerhead tanks are second best tank available in game and lose only to Baneblade, but they are not effective against infantry, and quietly expensive.

2:32 Baking some Cookies there, Jay? :) 10:40: Snipers break the morale of any normal infantry very fast. It's sortof unfortunate that the AI in strongholds in particular is so bad at dealing with the range of fire warriors (And the general super-OP ness of Tau against infantry in general). It's particularly noticeable in this mission, though, as so much of it is built around over-armed infantry squads. (Many of the enemy infantry groups here have double the number of heavy weapons they're ordinarily allowed.) FYI you don't get wargear for defences if you autoresolve. Also, the autoresolve is done by drunken, blindfolded chimps and a dartboard.

By the way if you build another command hq in maps you gain access to build 6 more energy generators

@@JayborinoPlays that's good to know, I was just thinking about if you attack/defend then end your turn, another faction might destroy another's during their turn, then you'd have to reload to the previous battle just to hope the RNG doesn't do it again

@@goldman77700 well its kinda hard to watch vanilla after Titanium. After the last patch its almost impossible to beat strongholds faster than 1.5 hours. And overall difficulty increased.

Ah, it's been too long since I played this. It got me thinking on what other strongholds were like (both dark crusade and soulstorm). I think the crisis (non-honor guard one) suits were also fielded in 3-tau squads like the broadsides did (talking v1.0). Btw, broadsides got a big bad boy upgrade (both in lore and tabletop) in 5e-onward, so they are not as weak they seem at first glance here. Release the parrot džukele (meaning: mutts/mongrels) yes-yes (when deemed appropriate) :D Of the remaining strongholds, the most worthy (for me at least) is the Chaos one. Regarding ones in soulstorm, without spoiling too much, I'd sort them like this: definite worth - chaos/dark eldar/guard/marines/orks (for sh*ts giggles and fun objectives, especially chaos (one ham show), guard and marines), not sure about - sisters/eldar/necron (eldar and necron could be tedious a bit), and the joke - tau, (again, talking v1.0) for me at least, the easiest stronghold of them (only fun beating it as orks thanks to gorgutz and his shenanigans).

I hope you'll do another full playthrough with a different race, but on hard. Normal isn't nearly a challenge. Strongholds can be so taxing early game on hard.

flamethrowers are way better than missle launcher on crisis suit at almost every situation, u should't rly ever upgrade them with rockets its just a waste on unit potential

Is this the one with the beacons or is this "the other one" (1 is dark crusade, the other is the expansion with the sisters of battle ) ??? ( in both I hated assaulting the space marines HQ as any race, eldar being the exception as they usually did very well vs the marines )

Sadly you can't change difficulty mid campaign in Dark Crusade and Soulstorm. It is unfortunate, since I do agree that now Jay has the mechanics down, Normal is too easy. But Hard would have been absolutely horrible to start with.
