"that lad is only after one thing" LOL! Yeah, but it's not Holly! She's actually the safe one here! Aaron may act like a he-man barbarian, but that's just a front. Underneath he is a total softy, especially when it comes to the people he actually likes! Though, yeah he does have anger issues, but that is more about his past and what he's trying to cope with than it is about anyone currently in his life, well except for Carl, he actually doesn't like him! Aaron lashes out to hide his pain. A lot of people who suffered from child abuse react like that. It's not like his reactions to things is out of the ordinary. It's a bad coping mechanism, that can cause a lot more pain than it helps, but he has yet to learn any other way to cope so you can hardly blame him for having it. He just needs more positive role models in his life like Paddy that will take the time and have the patience to teach him, and not just about good coping mechanisms, but how to treat people, especially women. Though soon he will be coming out, but he should still learn that. You have to remember that Aaron hasn't actually had any good role models to learn from at all growing up. How is he supposed to know how to treat people? His father was a sexually abusive monster, he hadn't seen his mother for a long time because she gave up trying to see him. Everyone is always thinking the worst of him and stopped expecting him to be better, so after a while it's no wonder that he gave up trying to be better. It's only recently that he's actually had anyone actually try with him, anyone actually be a good figure for him to look up to. People don't just change over night, especially those that have had such a shitty life for years. Give him some time. At least he is actually still trying and does actually listen for the most part.
