My brother, back in the day, "Tin Man" was regularly played on black R&B stations in Chicago. As a teen in the early 70's, we would go to basements sets and bop or step to these soft rock songs. Baby boomers like myself still listed to these classics.

Seek "America Live at Musikladen", a studio concert they filmed in Germany in 1975, no audience. It was the three of them with Calvin "Fuzzy" Samuelson on bass and William Leacox on drums---and that's it! They played electric/acoustic guitars and various keyboards, piano, organ, mellotron. Tight vocals. Excellent live recording. Their version of "Tin Man" is beautiful. Dewey Bunell is an underrated singer. The bassist didn't play the same engaging line during the chorus, but I don't think they thought that mattered. Listen, it's about a 43-minute performance that is pure organic magic. Reminds you of how valuable Danny Peek was to their songs.

Summer Breeze. Used to listen to that with my fiance and future wife at a place we rented in San Diego where we were stationed. And we usually had a summer breeze coming thru. Great times back then and great memories now.

I think I was about 10 years old when this song came out. My brother bought the album in Germany where he was stationed in Frankfurt and brought it home when he was discharged. I think it was one of the first albums he played and I was blown away by it. It always reminds me of that time period. Great song, great memory!

It is, another great America song. Such musicianship these guys were amazing. I was in my teens, this was what I grew up with. I realize it now as I go back and listen to these songs. I had troubles in my marriage and this music kept me sane.
