@@jimmyjennings5343 There are dozens of videos on KZbin alone on how to stop an anvil from ringing! Take e.g. this kzbin.info/www/bejne/npnOkIuEnLCMrLs#t=34s and slow it down (w/o preserving pitch) and you get a bell-like sound. I don't know whether that's what they did, but here are several sites claiming so, including the first which is quoting the album's producer in an interview: www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/fighting-fire-with-fire-metallica-look-back-on-ride-the-lightning-243500/ metallica.fandom.com/wiki/For_Whom_the_Bell_Tolls_(song) www.roadiemusic.com/blog/metallicas-bell-tolls-3-awesome-facts/ Edit: In fact, that last whack he does played at 25% sounds rather similar to the album bell.

I first heard this late at night in the car listening to "the metal shop" and I was blown away. So big and massive. I went and bought the album the next day.

A classic. The local ECHL hockey team uses this as their intro song. #defendtherig

This used to play in Cleveland every time Albert Bell came up to bat.

No, Bell didn't like music played at the Jake when he was stepping in to the box.... Matter of fact, he didn't like much of anything during that period of time(remember him chasing kids at halloween). He would never look at the fans in the bleachers in left field at home.. He definitely chilled out in retirement!

The horrors of war have been a recurring theme for Metallica. This, Disposable Heroes, and One almost feel like a loose 'trilogy'.

One of my favourite early Metallica tunes. Cliff’s bass into rocks. The live video of this song from Cliff em All is definitely worth watching also.

It's important to think of the voice as another instrument. Sometimes the words don't even matter, just the melody and tone of the singer's voice on top of the strings and percussion. And I think the most successful bands/performers are the ones with the most distinctive voices and singing styles. Who can mistake Ozzy Osbourne for anyone else, for example? Or Brian Johnson. Or James Hetfield, for that matter.

You didn’t have to say another word after you said “I’m not stopping it” I can tell you loved this, you kept stank face on the whole time!! I just love your reactions 👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌😊😊😊😊😊

Great song and reaction, you never disappoint! Can I suggest Chris Cornell covering One? He used Metallica's lyrics and U2's melody to create the most haunting anti-war song I've ever heard.
