Puffy Taco Throwdown

Bobby Flay, from the Food Network, came to town and challenged our Diana Barrios-Treviño to see who could make the best Puffy Taco. With cameras rolling, the challenge unfolded on Hacienda's popular outdoor patio before a small army of Diana's cheering partisans. In the end, Diana's Shredded Chicken Puffy Taco won the day.

Okay people who invented what .no one really knows who invented the puffy tacos just like nachos it's who has the best story that people think you invented.now my family has alot of history in sanantonio.one gramps ran the Alamo then became Allis to the texians he help start a second mexico the republic of Rio grande.his wife that grandma was named Rosa francisca compean Gonzalez she gave her friend mother Madeline and sisters of incarnet word land.money.and a hotel where the old Santa Rosa Christus is today for infirmary and a orphanage but that's another history lesson.just like general arrendondo battle of medina another gramps in time.but Henry's and rays are great but sanantonio DNT invent puffy tacos our family been in restaurant business over a hundred years in West Texas we always had them on menu .but we DNT invent them as well the Mexicans been making them for hundreds of years just like fajitas people saying they were the first.mexicans always had skirt steak and cabeza for Barbados they were given all the parts of the beef the gringo ranch owners or Mexican dons DNT want on there dinner plates.so no one can really claim they invented different foods in West Texas they were bng sold many years before and sold many years before the nxt and nxt just different names.🤔😀

Eso los inventaron en Yucatán, México, se llaman "salbutes", hay de cochinita pibil, relleno negro, pollo desebrado, carne molida, de pollo empanizado, etc. También hay los que tienen relleno de frijoles refritos y esos se llaman "panuchos" y en Veracruz se le llama "gordas" 😁🤷🏻‍♂️

I heard the story about the puffy taco when I was a wee lad from my papa. He said the story begins in 1939 on a small farm just outside of San Antonio. A beautiful young woman named Maria Gonzales was tending to her morning chores when she was tragically kicked by a large buro. She was rushed to the hospital, survived thee surgery but was extremely swollen and in mooch pain. the doctor said there wasn't mooch they could do. Maria started laughing and screaming eye eye rebba rrrrrrahhhaaa.I dont know about you ese, but you have just given me an idea. So she then created the maza puffy taco named after herself. Her husband Juan and allll the local peasants went crazy for her puffy taco. People from all over came to see her puffy taco and they ate her taco day and night. My papa even told me he would get a piece of her taco anytime he could on Saturday night fiestas.
