I'll probably be against most here, but for me Ozzmosis was Ozzy's first record with a really good sound. If you listen to the final versions of those Ozzmosis recordings today, they still sound modern and clean, not drowned in that ugly 80s reverb. Those versions are an interesting look into history, but they sound dated. But I'm glad they decided to change producers and make Ozzmosis sound the way it does.

I was in Okinawa, Japan when Ozzmosis came out. I bought that without hearing a single note. Blew me away. I love it. I’ve always said it’s the absolute best record post Randy.

I remember hearing Ozzy in 1995 in an interview for MTV that he had spent more money than ever on that sound through the work of the album's producer Michael Beinhorn (Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Marilyn Manson, Korn, etc.)

When this version was released, I was captivated. The saxophone and raw sound, IMO, make it better than the album cut. As an aside, a lot of people gave this album bad reviews and did not like the sound. But I think it was one of the best. It was heavy and dark. Plus, Geezer and Wylde were in the band. The songs ranged from sadness to anger, and even a few ballads. Ozzmosis is classic!

I'm here because Michael Wagener was just interviewed by Eddie Trunk and they discussed these songs. Michael was hired to make the exact same record as, "No More Tears". 7 songs were finished & mixed, but then the label asked Michael to make the songs sound like Soundgarden ( very dry and in your face) After a break in recording the label hired the Soundgarden producer. Michael said Ozzy hated what was done and thought these demos are 100 times better.

I love the beefy heavier drums on this demo version compared to studio. Not sure if this is Randy Castillo still or Mike Borden. Can’t remember if Randy was still part of Ozzy’s band at this point or if he had left. He was an Amazing drummer as well as Tommy Aldridge and Lee Kerslake. Shame Randy passed in 2002 and Lee in 2020 I believe RIP to them both.
