The Aliyah girl in the beginning is from Miami but moved to Dubai almost 2 years ago when she got married, she is a second wife of a French black soccer player called Demba Ba (he has 2 wives, not divorced), he is Muslim so he has it's a common practice, she even converted for him. He has 3 kids with his first wife. He moved Aliyah to Dubai but doesn't live with her because he plays soccer somewhere else, spends most of his time with the first family.
