The Story of Maxmoefoe | YouTube's Massive Legend

One of the all time greats of KZbin - Maxmoefoe. In this video we cover his relationship with iDubbbz, Howtobasic and Filthyfrank, his love for Pokemon and now Cold Ones and look at how Max's influence and legacy on the site is often overlooked. I know this video isn’t as exciting as some of my others as it doesn’t follow a more controversial creator but I wanted to make a video on Max as I feel he deserves to have a documentary about his history on the site so people can look back and see his impact on KZbin.

Okay bear with me: I did look it up and I got a news report from “Channel 4” in the UK. As a British person, I’m going to just assume whatever they’re putting out is completely bullshit for views (BFV). I found max on an idubbbz comment section (I think kickstarter crap 4) saying "I'm so glad I found this channel". Maxmoefoe was the start to my KZbin obsession. Maxmoefoe lived in the same city as me at the time and I even went to one of his meet and greets. I don’t watch his content anymore and haven’t for years but he will always have a special place in my heart.

This was an amazing video! I kind of disagree that Joji and iDubbz get a majority of the love from their trio days, but perhaps that's personal bias. I have always been a huge fan of Max, and as much as I am also a fan of Joji and his music, Max will always stick with me as the absolute pinnacle of what made old school KZbin what it was!

I think Max isn't as recognised because the things he's directly done honestly aren't nearly as controversial as the others he's interacted with. I remember when I started watching him it took me a bit longer to warm up to him that Ian or George, but as time has gone in I've found myself finding more fond memories in Maxes content than any of the others. I grew out of KZbin drama and my taste for edgy antisemitic humour has died down. But Max just kinda says a word in a kinda funny way and it makes me crack the fuck up. I very frequently re watch his Vlogs as I just find his way of interacting with people to feel more genuine than other KZbinrs and it's so refreshing to watch. Cold ones slaps because of him and Chad's chemistry too. This man truly is a Massive Legend and deserves way more recognition that he gets.

Very good video! Something you never really touched on was his vlog content - some of it was very good (such as E3 or Pax) and some of it was very bad. I was reminded of one particular video I watched around 2012/2013 on his second channel where he was vlogging at the dole office, it was brought up on an episode of Cold Ones. I'm sure that footage still exists somewhere.

Nicely put together video. One thing about Max, the way he directs videos and gives advice to other youtubers. He has a talent for knowing what works, what people want to see. It's really amazing when you watch the BTS videos or Cold Ones Patreon videos and get to see when he instinctively gives directions or suggestions while filming. It's all improvised and strong-hitting. Obviously he has a great sense of humour and pop culture knowledge but the inert ability to know what works well is what impresses me most. It's why the collaboration videos (Frank/iDubbbz/Cold Ones) are successful. Often times it's the things he suggests that are the highlights. Plus he knows what other content creators are good and how to play to their strengths.

Such a fantastic video, very well put together, great editing and most importantly, it covers one of the most massiviest legends to have ever grazed this website and one of my favourite youtubers. I love Max and all the videos he's done he's just a very entertaining person to watch you know?
