On the contrary, with making over 200 billet parts in-house, the level of customization available, the fact that every bike is a unique one-off, ABS, closed-loof EFI, oil pump system, carbon fiber everywhere, at least 200lbs lighter than a Harley, and it's a real daily, full-range rider. I mean wow, Harley can't do all that for this price, and neither can some of the more well-known "full custom" bike builders. They're right in the market niche for what they're producing as well as for what other business models aren't focused on, and it's remarkable just how right on the money they are for the price point a bike like that should have. You either love it for what it is, or it's just not the bike for you.

@SvenTviking I don't believe it's over priced at all. Is it a high price? Certainly. However, saying it's OVER priced means they're charging too much for what they're delivering. Since the quality and attention to detail goes into every piece of these fantastic machines, the price is clearly justified for the bikes' MANY owners. You may not appreciate and understand the value, but that doesn't mean others share your limitations.

I think they should be congratulated for sticking with their original idea and developing it for actual, 50-state compliant production. Too me, the price isn't outlandish, considering this is in the early years and the bikes are made a few at a time. In fact, the bikes are probably a safe investment over the long term. $80,000 is less than the cost of three "regular" high-end mass produced bikes, and also less a base 911, and you get to enjoy something unique and possibly of historical interest.
@lonelamon7 жыл бұрын
Ben Smukler The same argument could be made for a bike like the EBR 1190rs and that bike was still half the price of this cruiser when it was new. 80,000 is a very outlandish price for something that "could" have value down the road. With no heritage to the name and such a exorbitant price tag from the get go I think this will just be another over priced "American" designer motorcycle.

You've made some good points Ben. My observation, gleaned from American custom bike and car shows, is that there are always people lining up to spend , what, a $100,000 to build a custom Harley or Model A Coupe. Whether it gets over the barriers of too low production then stagnancy is yet to be seen. If they do and become economically viable then prices may fall. History is in the making.

when i hear Jay talk about the handling then talk about Ducati's long front then Jay just steers all that horsepower with his hips... oh yeah that's a good bike
@vidznstuff15 жыл бұрын
You don't steer a motorcycle with lean or your hips. The "stability" and hands off is because of the 30 degree rake. And because of the rake and the heavy weight, Leno didn't say it, it's more work to turn the bars at low speeds.

Beautiful bikes. I hope they do good as a small company. Another great video Jay.

I have never been a fan of motorcycles. Not ride even one time in my life. I drive a lot by a car. But if I look on the ARCH KRGT-1, that dark orange I starting to be a huge fan of motorcycles :) it's looks amazing! It has something about it that is talking to me. It looks like a motorcycle from the future, a sporty one with a classic claw! I love that!

You can tell the amount of thought and attention to detail that went into designing these bikes. If i was looking for a bike with an 80k budget this is what Id buy.

Why are people so bitter about the price? You don't seem to understand how low volume, small companies that make handmade goods work. This is essentially a toy, like that sports car someone has in their garage they will take a cruise in when the weather is nice.
@hankbrown39595 жыл бұрын
@Joe Figueroa Does "production" mean affordable to your budget? No, it means they are producing multiples of something and offering them as a set known metric. The amount of machining and carbon fiber in these bikes warrants the price. Check out their machinists (@misterryanboyd) instagram and see the crazy amount of work that goes into all the parts.
@zachsmith17315 жыл бұрын
@Joe Figueroa Id have to agree with you. Especially with the amount of technology available for making the parts in house. Literally takes no time anymore. Doesnt warrant the price at all.
@zachsmith17315 жыл бұрын
@Joe Figueroa not to mention some of the rarest bikes go for only like 30k...

Hank Brown Having an $80k bike is absurd and there’s no reason for them at all, these are the types of bikes for people that know nothing about motorcycles.
@fishhuntadventure4 жыл бұрын
Okaaaay So all you think it should be allowed to make things you won’t buy? Two things: 1) you don’t have to buy one unless you want to and can afford it. Like airplanes and luxury yachts, vacation homes. 2) the logic presented here pretty much would conclude that bikes above 250cc shouldn’t exist. There ARE countries that you can’t buy what you want even if you can afford it. Perhaps you might enjoy living there better? Especially with their higher moral values and total lack of humanitarian failures.
