D in DC Worked for a Bay Area man whose car collection of over four hundred vehicles includes a gullwing Mercedes as well as two -- count 'em, TWO! -- Duesenberg dual-cowl phaetons (looking at you, Charlie G!) And much to his credit, he often drove cars from the collection. Other than to preserve and protect your investment, why collect cars and simply store them in a garage somewhere? Selfish, abominable behavior, imho.

Jay does the best overviews of the old bikes. The durability of the 5 main bearing Henderson speaks volumes about quality. The Indian 4 didn't get 5 main bearings until years later. It's cool that Jay owned many of his old bikes before the Tonight Show when these machines were attainable, and not too outrageously priced. He's a true afficianado. Thanks, Jay!

I built a 40 Indian and a 31 Henderson four when I was in high school about 1949. The interesting things I found about them were the external band rear brakes, and Bosch magnetos. Also the carb had a round float made of cork that looked like a doughnut. To seal it from absorbing gasoline you would paint it in orange shellac and bake it in the oven, much to the shagrin of mom. I thought for sure you would mention that beautiful cast aluminum gas tank on the Henderson. Thks for those GREAT SOUNDS.

My Surname Motorcycle 'HENDERSON'.. She's a Beautiful piece of machinery. I've wanted one of these since I was 14yrs old after finding out about these and others that I didn't know anything about.. I was raised on Honda's and Kawasaki's, Triumph's etc.. as that is what my father was working on or riding.. I've since found out that my Family is a distant member of the Original Family that made these and also in my Families ancestry I have the surname of 'Cleveland' which also was a Family I came from. Thanks Jay for sharing this with us as these are what made this country Great back before Mass production producing took over or the Imports starting being brought here to AMERICA. Man I wish I had a ...or a CROCKER and a few of those also. Way out of my price range now that I'm older and these are more Valuable in today's America. God Bless America.

My Dad, b.1912, owned a Henderson, said the torque from the inline 4 would pull you back up from a hard (left? right?) lean, (and you could use that when outrunning the cops) he got a ticket in 1932 for blowing by the Verona courthouse 80 mph. The cop used that red needle indicator speed on the ticket from how fast he had to go to catch my Dad.

that was so fascinating and enjoyable. I am not a motorcycle guy but I really enjoyed that and would love to see her in person. It reminded me of a vintage aircraft that the airforce or navy might have used in that it was all function and no glitz, what a delight indeed. Thank you Jay for bringing this sort of vehicle to the fore front so we can learn not only about the vehicles history but of the place in history this vehicle played in the world. Lastly......I dont think i have ever heard a more beautiful sounding bike, just a pure gutteral sound that speaks of her power and magnificence.

Love these videos, Jay is really knowledgable and explains his vehicles wonderfully well. This series is better than most of the car shows on TV, Jay doesn't have to contend with commercial breaks or the practice of re-showing the last 2 minutes of the show before you went to break. It's more in depth and interesting. Thanks Jay.

My grandfather drove a motorcycle as a courier in the German Army in WW2... I watch old videos of them going across Russia that went on forever and ever and watch the soldiers on motorbikes. I've got an 85 Rebel I found rusting away and took completely apart and restored, and its a blast. I use it like a mule and haul more on it than when I'm in a car, usually groceries. I'ld love to score an old built like a tractor hardtail, bring it back to life, and use it as my daily driver.

We need to fix our government to attract the people we want to run for President. Right now it's more of a sentence than a service. Nobody wants to even get close to that office for all the corruption and bs that goes on. The only people who seek the Presidency are people who are brought up in that circle of corruption, a decent person wouldn't last a week.

What a fabulous bike. 90 -/+ years old and can keep up with pretty much anything on the road today! 👍 Also great job on mentioning your use of Marvel's Mystery Oil (aka M.M.O.) to counteract the effects of alcohol in modern gasoline. MMO also functions nicely as a fuel stabilizer, fuel pump and injector lubricant, amongst other beneficial virtues. I've been using for years and can honestly say it's one of the few vehicle additives that isn't "snake-oil". I guess that's why it's been around since the early 1920's!! Heck... it's even cheap!! Great video as always, Jay! Thanks for sharing. 👍 Oh and for the record.... I'm NOT (nor was ever) connected with M.M.O. in anyway, shape, or form other than a true fan. 😉

This is ridiculous. As much as I am not into Jay Leno's car collection (okay, I like the Countach, but not much else really), I got totally sold on his classic motorcycle collection. He even has my favorite motorcycle ever, the Honda CBX, albeit not in my favorite red livery from '78-'80 vintage, which he totalled... but I digress. All those Brought Superiors, HRD Vincent Series A Rapide, Henderson KJ, Indian four cylinder and the Chief, Triumph, Norton, and even the Velocette, what a collection!!! Wonderful.
