Wampler Tumnus Deluxe: Overdrive/Boost

I run both the gain and level around 11 o'clock, bass and mids a bit above noon, treble around 11, boost of. In front of a Wampler Pinnacle, it's amazing at any level of the guitar volume.

Finally someone who puts the different tones in the correct context! It pained me to watch different demos go through all the settings barely touching the strings. Like how are you gonna make those higher gain settings sound good when barely touching individual strings? Hit the chords hard or those hot leads! Thanks for the demo :)

Really fantastic playing with oodles of soul. Great, great demo of the Tumnus... you demonstrate the capabilities & diversity of the pedal so well. IMO there are many demos of the Tumnus which don’t fully explore the pedal as a warm clean boost... something I’m particularly interested in. You nailed it man. Awesome!

Happy Movember :) Glad to hear you Demo this pedal! I had seen Wampler tweet about it and it wasn’t available yet, so I’ve been patiently waiting!! I held off on the original, because I really prefer a B,M,T tone stack! Since I saw you put up a vid about this pedal, I figured I’d check on Reverb to see if there were any for sale and heck yeah there were!! Now, I’ve got a serious question about the positioning of this pedal...Basically how I have my chain set up is I have my Spaceman Explorer phaser first, then it goes to my fuzz pedals(Pigdog Space Face Navigator oc81, Pigdog JuJu mkiii bender, Pigdog SF-1 SupaFuzz, and soon to be a CV7005 Analogman Sun Face!) after the fuzz, I run it into the Xotic Stereo X Blender, and send the now two separate signals to the Empress Echosystem. Then I have two chains go through some chorus and flange respectively, and at the end of both chains I have a Spaceman Effects Atlas preamp boost, right before they go into the respective amps(Supro Coronado on the left, Marshall tsl60 on the right) So I guess my question is should I have this at the end of one of my chains, right before the amp? Or after the fuzz pedals, before the Signal is split? I’m really excited for this pedal, just trying to think ahead as to where it should go!! And loved the SRV Couldn’t Stand the Weather and then the Queen song as well ;) Those stuck out to me when you asked the question at the end of the vid! Haha and don’t worry too much about the mustache, no it doesn’t always look great on everybody(lol I don’t do mustaches because they really look bad on me) but more power to you for going with it, damn the jokes!! Great vid as always, I’m looking forward to receiving this pedal and seeing how I can fit it into my chain!!

Try it after the fuzzes with the buffer on OR before after the Spaceman Phaser with the buffer off... See which position works the best for your taste in stacking and go from there :) Enjoy!

Wow, huge question. If you are looking for a pristine clean boost or a middy 70s style overdrive, I would go Tumnus. The MG has a is a little more even keeled as sweeter. Both are awesome.

Shit, I wasn’t paying attention as they go, but a rocky song (eye of the tiger?), couldn’t stand the weather by SRV and a couple queen tunes at the end (or were they the same song but two different parts 🤔) Oh, and I already have the small tumnus and love it. I ordered the deluxe and plan to bump the small tumnus down to my smaller practice board/practice rig. 🤘🏻🎸
