I think the closest to this movie in execution would be 2020's "Host." It was filmed during the pandemic and involves a group of friends holding an online seance for shits and giggles that goes horribly wrong. Another one I liked was "The Den" (aka Hacked) from 2013, which is about a grad student doing her sociology thesis on online chat apps who ends up witnessing a murder and becoming the killer's next target.
