Jaymes these videos are literally so fun! I’m sure they are a pain to make but there are no queens doing consistent sewing videos on KZbin so it’s such a treat to watch these!!!

Sitting right next to a serger but just using a zigzag stitch to serge the ends of fabric is the most relatable content Jaymes has ever made.
@gregmunro1137 Жыл бұрын
Ya serging the ends of fabric is a pain- a good old zig zag is easier to deal with

@@shawnbay2211 a thread broke on mine - I can not stand on my head to re thread it- it had to wait till some one else could thread it - there’s always the one needle that is impossible to thread

I am so beyond grateful for these videos. As a new drag queen I completely learned how to do my own hair from this channel and it completely saved my life so also getting sewing content helps me learn how to fully round myself out as a queen. I love your videos so much and thank you

Your knowledge is so soothing and interesting to listen to. These new videos also show how wrong it is to shade queens for poor dresses - making clothing is extremely complicated and I have a new found respect for it!

this video was extra fun because I use charmeuse fabric a lot. in it's earlier years it was treated more like pretty inseam fabric but some designer discovered how pretty and flowey the fabric moves on a body when hey draped it on a model and its become a more outer material ever since. it's been a devoted source of fabric that i use when i can't grab a hold of a nice taffeta. I dont think i ever seen dinner at 8 I've an idea of what that one might be so i'll double check my barbie fashion from 1958 to 1980s book but i'd love to see both that and the other one you were thinking. and if you do make this again it be great to see how it look bullet bra style. If you dibble into the mod era check out the romantic ruffle dress. its beautiful pink and i dont know what's going on with the ruffles it looks kinda like it has metallic fibers in it.

For flimsy, slippery and fraying fabrics i usually serge the edges before i attaches them together. It also helps the fabric to not stretch around and keeping it aligned when you start sewing pieces together

Glad you got your clips… Jaymes, instead of pinning your fabric to the pattern just buy some weights ( from Hardware store, giant metal washers or buy glass circle weights) put the weights strategically on the pattern and cut around it.
