I went there a couple times when i was a kid, but I don’t have any particular story to share. All I can remember is that it was a rather crowded theme park, long queues at pretty much every ride/facility. I had my first roller coaster ride here.

I was born in Chongqing in 80's, though living oversea for more than a decade. This park was popular from 90's till 10's. It has witnessed the 'above-living' needs of Chinese Mid-classes after the 'openning-up' and before the network based 'e-era'.

Just looked up chongqing local news, it says, the park was officially closed July 15 2020, but the Ferris wheel was closed in 2017, because it had reached its age limit, some of other rides opened until 7/15/2020, after that, only the park remains open. they have two plans for the park either a new ferries wheel as landmark, the other plan is just build a commercial complex with hotel and other things.

One of the reasons why there are still people and cars in that abandoned park is that there are two hotpot restaurants on the top of the hill, and yes they are within the park's range. Both of them are big and luxurious because you can have a wonderful view over the Yangtze River and Yuzhong District. You should have climbed a bit more to the top to see what to find there.

I went to that park several times. The big rollercoaster was pretty rough and jarring to ride, yet still fun as I was able to have it all to myself. The log ride was a refreshing cool way to get wet on those hot Chongqing days. The kids rides were the only ones used during the day, with the park becoming busier in the cool of the evening. It was a fun place to chill out in when taking a break from the National Motorbike Show in the neighbouring Exhibition Centre.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry and National Immigration Administration said in a statement that, effective Sept. 28, foreign nationals holding valid Chinese residence work permits are allowed to enter the country without needing to apply for a new visa. Additionally, those entering for personal matters and family reunions are also allowed to enter without applying for new visas. Chongqing better get ready because you have advertised the hell out of it! JaYoe

Sorry for the confusion with the another park. This park is called Chongqing amusement park. According to news report of July 22nd, the operator stopped operating the park on July 15th this year at the end of their contract (major impact of Covid-19 at the same time). Also a lot of facilities are at the end of their operation cycle and need upgrades or even new eqipment after 29 years. It is not to be dismantled right away. Maybe some new investors would show up someday. Some discussion is ongoing between the city and the tourism board for new a park, including a new giant ferris wheel. The old one in the current park stopped operating in 2017. Well let's see how much it will take for them to build it. m.k.sohu.com/d/468388208?channelId=5&page=2

So, me and the wife, we were at Vin Pearl Land, Nha Trang. It's pretty hot right, we muster up the courage after 4 hours in the sun on this island which has a lot of concrete, and kind of a heat island effect. Dunno what you call that. And we find this courage to go all the way up to the top of the Island, there is a lovely garden with butterflies and really nice flowers, all in these huts. It's actually the best part of the island, and sure enough, there is a wheel. So, why not? How romantic, sit in a small thing and ride all the way up into the sky, nice and slowly. We get into this thing, and it's hotter then a mother fucker, because it's just plastic on the side and sun hitting it non stop. What's worse? In the cabin, there is a small speaker playing what could only be described as "ear-rape", it's the local music, string instruments and such, but played so damn loud, that the entire speaker feels like it's being ripped apart by a dinosaur. When you travel around, sometimes you get the distinct feeling that the people who make a lot of the attractions you see, have never bothered to think about the true implications of what they have made. Like, there is a small cafe near the Independence Museum in HCMC, and if you go into the men's toilet and latch the door behind you. You'll notice one odd thing about the toilet, there is a toilet to sit at, and then a urinal 90 degree's facing the toilet. I took a photo of it, but I am thinking about why anyone would think that was convenient placement. I mean, sure, one person could be taking a dump, and someone else could be urinating in the urinal, but, the two men would have to be entirely intimate during the process in a way that most men just simply aren't, and even if they were, they perhaps wouldn't consider this with a complete stranger that you had just latched into this small confined room together. I'm trying to think of any situation where two males would go into this room at the same time, and I'm only thinking gaysex at this point.
