Major props to you for those drone shots. I live in SF Bay Area and they will cart you away for flying at the GG bridge. Nice they let you do that! I am intrigued by the Shiminami Kaito and your video is very much appreciated! Great work... you have a new subscriber. I hope to visit Japan and experience this!

Matt, the squeak is caused by a slight bend in your right front disc rotor. When you lean over to the right you put weight on that side and the axle flexes just enough for the bent rotor to touch a brake pad. Lift the front right wheel off the ground and turn it while looking at the rotor as it goes through the caliper. You should see a very slight wobble to the rotor. Figure out exactly where the bend is the greatest then push it the opposite way with your hand. Push it very gently, then test to see if you got it. Keep pushing slightly harder each time until you have removed the bend. Discs bend easier than you might think, so you need to start out gently until you get a feel for how hard to shove on it.

What a great vlog! So much great content in one episode, I don't even mind being behind a whole week it was worth the wait. I have to admit I was feeling pretty nervous when the drone shot outside the bridge popped up and knew what could go wrong. I'm glad it didn't as that shot was rad. JaYoe!

The dolls are part of a public art done by a local villager. Basically, her village is dying. Most of everybody moved into the city and the older folks are dying one by one. She's one of the few residents left so the dolls are suppose to represent the people that are no longer there.

Those life-size rag dolls have sashes that say "Traffic Safety" (交通安全 - koh-tsuu anzen). They're probably made by locals and used for driver's safety campaigns: propped up on roads at intersections, to get drivers to slow down and drive more safely. You found them between campaigns, chillin'.

My sister and I have the same thing with jumping out of high places. I think most people have those thoughts. Btw, I am doing Shimanami Kaido next weekend. And from 27th I am doing a circle cycling around Shikoku which will take me around 2 weeks. Hopefully in few years I will be able to do traveling full time

do you need to be pro biker to do this? I want to do it, im a skateboarder, i have condition to do it, i just never bike. There is also a tradition of walking around shikoku in a circuit of temples, but that takes like more than a month. Biking sounds a lot better.

The video is very good. The drone video with the light coming through the clouds was spectacular. What was your hurry... you said yourself you could have taken a month? As it was you were cycling in the dark to reach the hostel on Osaki shimozima? Seems like a wasted opportunity to me considering how much time you spent up on the east coast of Hokaido where the coastline when on forever?

I'm sure its occured to you already. The tricycle you ride seems to be a novelty in Japan. Have you thought about a business opportunity in manufacturing or importing those? Its both easier for cargo, lower risk of losing balance.
