What a great disservice we did for Ferdinand after his racing career ended. Sent to Arrow Stud in Japan & then, after a long stud career, was slaughtered sometime between 2001 & 2002. RIP Ferdinand.

Hated that filly! But only because we could not beat her! As the daughter of the trainer of Fran's Valentine, Lady's Secret was the last one that was hoped to be found in the entries. On a serious note, Lady's Secret deserved every honor and accolades she received. She was a monster! As far as Fran's Valentine, or Frannie as she was known to those who surrounded her, she was a champion in her own right! Thanks for this post , and replay of a very special time!

The absolute balls of steel for the owners of Wild Again to put up that kind of money to enter him in that first Classic. They could only break even or better on that investment by getting first or second. They were absolutely crawling the last furlong, but Wild Again going 45 for the half, 1:10 for 3/4 of a mile, and being headed the ENTIRE race, was a hell of an effort on that horse's part. Im really glad they didnt take him down. Wild Again deserved that win.

Yes, Chris Antley was a great rider, and a very caring man, and he loved Charismatic. Very sad that the world of horseracing had to lose them both.

Amazing race!

BS on Wild Again's race. Replay clearly shows him moving hard to his right. You could tell by his back legs. Still, it was a great race for him at 30-1.

Didn't look that bad to me. Look at the lines in the dirt and how he keeps his course. In any case, Slew of Gold had every chance in the world to get past him before Gate Dancer made his move.
