In my opinion, white might be one of the most underrated players in the NBA. Everyone knows how good he is on defense. His offensive side of the game is just as impressive to me. Seems like he always makes the pass or takes the shot at the right time. He is also so efficient, seems like most nights he is shooting about 50% from the floor. Plus, he seems like he has that clutch factor to me. I wouldn’t be mad if he is taking a big shot. Crazy how much he has grown into a star with the Celtics.

Check out Queta’s dedication to getting low on the perimeter. Combo dribble moves can still stand him up, but his progression on technique is palpable

Jason Tatum has become, if not elite, then borderline elite, passer. And not just when his gravity pulls in defenders, his vision and accuracy has improved exponentially. I see a triple double season somewhere in the future, even with all of these amazing teammates.

The 2nd quarter was some of the best defense I’ve seen from the team this season. And the ball movement was so good. Even when they missed they just looked crisp and focused. Really a great win.

Agreed... and did my eyes deceive me or were they FINALLY executing that zone scheme properly? Seemed like Minny had no idea how to attack that zone.

That Edwards quote at the end of the podcast so reminded me of a similar quote from Isiah Thomas back in 1991 regarding Jordan. Thomas said there was a fast break where normally Jordan would posterize the defender but instead passed the ball to Pippen for the score and Thomas did a double take: That play told him the Bulls were for real now.

Joe said he wanted to see the Celtics force more turnovers on defense, and they did just that. Minnesota had a lot of turnovers last night, and they were building a wall around Ant.

8:20 same thing in soccer.. i’m a lefty and i’m taught to bring it up the right side, cut to my left at the top of the box and hit it. it’s because you get a better angle at the goal
@JoseSantos-zj3ll19 күн бұрын
Curling the shot to the far post with the inside of your left foot may make it too difficult for the Goalkeeper to reach the ball. Most of the GK are trained to protect the near post first.

Great win for sure , but personally I never fell into the group that thinks we were never supposed to lose another basketball game again … Do I think this team has gotten over the hump? . HELL YES . that doesn’t mean there’s not 16* guys showing up to work each time on the other side. Everyone plays us tough! It’ll still come down to who can beat us 4 times outta 7, and that’s Still no one if you ask me

Loved just about everthing other than the shooting selection in the last 1:30 or so. Didn't need a dagger 3, just needed a bucket. Play the percentages there, get to the line... no need to jack a three.

The C’s maybe shud start attacking the rim in the 1st qtr to get themselves going, my workouts always start with me at the rim thn eventually wrk my way out but I shoot mostly mid range shots thn finish outside

Its hard to watch... BUT... Toronto started similarly and then boom they seemed like they couldn't miss. This game looked very much the same. I think there's gotta be something about everyone getting a chance to get a few shots up while also playing hard defense that gets that rhythm going even faster?

Happy new year John! Good win! I wouldve liked for the Cs to push for a blowout so Walsh and the bench can get more developmental mins but a win is a win. Didnt like that they fumbled a 14 point lead but i liked that guys like neemi and d.white stepped up in KP and JBs absence. Now lets make it 3 in a row by beating the rockets. Time to get back to chip basketball and going on long win streaks. Going 4-0 on this road trip will quiet some noise and send a message. Go bear, for a while now, has been a fake DPOY. totally undeserving. IMO DPOY should be capable of protecting the rim and guarding in space..like a d.white, wemby, etc.

You are 💯 correct. Anthony Edwards needs to grow up. If he does, he will be an elite basketball player and his team will win.

THAT’s what champs do! Missing a couple stars? Other guys step up. Those guys were White, Hauser and how about the TermiQueta?! That 4th quarter from Derrick was outstanding. And the defense overall was what we’ve been looking for-especially the way they basically shut down Ant. Like I said the other day, nothing better to get guys back on track than a challenging road trip. And I’m not overlooking JT here. He was the catalyst with that great stretch to close out the first half. Thanks John! ☘️🔒

@@anthonycalabraro1246I hear you, but the original post says D White is just as important to “winning”; it never claimed he was as good or better than Brown. So when it comes to value in winning for the Celtics, I agree that D White is just as important.

@ke3p1tco0l2 again whatever words you use to say this Derrick white is not more important than jaylen brown to winning in any way what so ever

@@anthonycalabraro1246 I never said D White is more important; I said just as important, particularly in his role for the Celtics… Why are you having such a hard time understanding this? We’re not putting down Brown by giving White his props. In a vacuum, Brown is by far a better overall player. But as far as their role on the team, White is often just as important to winning. If you’re a true Celtics fan and watch their games closely, this really isn’t a hot take.

I don't agree with the take on Edward's comment. It would be more true, if there was only one kind of "good brand of basketball". But basketball can be good in multiple ways. I don't think person, saying "I know this Lady Gaga song is very good, but I want to listen to jazz", is saying something unreasonable or stupid.
@NGC198619 күн бұрын
I feel like what he was trying to say is they took him off HIS game, which bothered him as a competitor.. but it definitely came out poorly. That's giving him benefit of the doubt, could easily have meant what he said and has a lot of growing to do haha

Walsh has upside. His physical attributes, athleticism and intangibles are all way better. He has potential to be an elite wing defender and if his offense comes along he will be a crucial piece. Tillman is just an insurance policy if we have several injuries.
@NGC198619 күн бұрын
I think every other bench player brings something extra.. Kornet is a well rounded player who uses his frame well as a rim protector and is surprisingly solid in pick and roll offense. Queta just has great energy and athleticism and motor. Tillman... What does he actually bring that is a plus over those guys? I root for him but I don't see why he deserves minutes over the other two. In regards to Walsh.. We need wing bench depth. Giving him minutes just makes sense because if Hauser gets banged up... we'll need him.
