Tatum is really living the 'doing what the team needs' mantra - C's went into the post-season on an absolute backslide in rebounding, and a month of not moving the ball, and JT has responded by taking defensive rebounding responsibilities with his full effort, and leading the team in assists. I'm critical of the dude's shot selection, a lot of the time, but his all around play, and his defense - especially his help defense - has been superb.

finally playing team ball and opening the floor ............ and is definitely a big part of the defensive anchor ! But he isnt a superstar hes just a volume shooter ... Nobody is above one another on the team,they compliment each other perfectly ! In my eyes JBs maturity and determination makes him the leader on and off the court !

Credit to him, but his body language is kinda telling that he isn't doing it from the heart, rather from neccessity and he doesn't look like he's enjoying it on the floor like the other guys. That's just what I've picked up, maybe I'm wrong...

@@freshmint007 I think that's a reasonable way to feel. Tatum's always been a little mellow for my taste - but he's consistent: never too hot, never too cold. He and Brown have adopted a professionalism on the court that doesnt seem to be how either of them act off of it, real straight faced, very focused; I think the expectations they are working under made it necessary. Those two have to wear the game face, all the time - the rest of the team gets to relax, emote, get excited. But I may be wrong, too, just how it looks to me.

Let’s be real!! JT is not embracing that role!! Look at his body language EVERYTIME he doesn’t score 30ppg. It’s even worse when he has an off shooting night. He is saying what is needed but he does not want to be a passer. His offensive play has been soo bad post All star break, he has to. He took the most shots on the team!! Like c’mon. Just look at Ant body language as a “do what is needed” player compared to Tatum. Night and day! Give it up Tatum and really embrace a “do as needed role”

@Yrgzip0
@Yrgzip0 4 ай бұрын
He’s being doubled, do you seriously think he was being guarded by just strus?😂. He’s not shooting great, but look at everything else he’s doing to compensate. He’s playing the best defense of his career, averaging over 10 boards, and averaging the most assists on the team. As long as he keeps making the right basketball play and the Celtics keep winning by 25 he can play like this all he wants. Basketball is more than scoring and his volume is his lowest since 2019 it’s not like he’s shot chucking. Hes getting the most FTA in his career on the 3rd least shots in his career, just needs to hit some more of the shots he’s taking. Its not the end of the world he’s not playing all-out vs the Cleveland cavaliers lmao
