Possibly his best game of the series. Loved his chemistry with Al- the instinct to get him going by really seeking him out for passes was awesome.

Tatum is one of a few truly complete players 3 level scorer rebounds facilities active defensively on and off ball. Can takeoff if need be and selfless enough to defer and trust his teammates when he needs to.

If he could replace that handful of possessions a game where he just...dribbles around waiting for the clock to run out? Who could stop him? Because other than those, this game was outstanding. But he seems to dedicate a few minutes a game to unwarranted heat checks, and it kills me to watch.

That's just not on him, the rest of the team needs to move around. Someone can go set a high screen so he can drive and others can move around relocate to create a better passing angle. As for heat checks, JB, D-White and KP does it too. 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@RCandFishing He waves people off, man. Part of it is the offensive philosophy - the C's hunt for mismatches, so if he has one, he's supposed to use it. But when he has that mismatch, he defaults to dribbling a bunch, then doing a couple cross-overs to try and get his rhythm, then settles for a terrible jump shot. He does it against short defenders, tall defenders, he does it against good defenders, bad ones, everyone. I dont mind heat checks - but you're supposed to be scoring well, first, and you shoot something improbable bc when you're hot, it might go in. He's checking if he's hot before he's turned the engine on.

Yeah, he sucks. Horrible non call, the defender actually fouled Tatum twice on that play (hit his arm and then didn't allow him to land clearly). Then the horrible technical foul afterward.

Tatum would be fully unlocked if the Celtics had a real point guard. He misses so many opportunities to score when he sets screens because everyone else are average PNR ball handlers.

Thank you man, lmfao, not many people bring this up. This postseason with Jrue and DWhite, those two are an improvement from Marcus in many ways but Marcus was/is a way more natural playmaker than both of them. In the playoffs you could be damn sure Marcus was gonna get 0 the ball. As much as we love Derrick, watching him handle the PNR with Tatum coming to screen is very frustrating at times. Personally I think a main factor for Tatum’s inefficiency issues this playoffs has been the fact that it’s his first? completely without Marcus, and also the fact that when he screens Derrick, I swear it feels like 50% of the time Derrick dribbles around for 8-10 seconds and then by the time Tatum gets the ball back there’s no time on the clock and he has to hoist the grenade

i hate to rain on his fantastic parade but he owes brown something for pushing him away. jb was just tryna clam him down especially since we cant have these immature complaining to the refs. thats how bad things happen. i understand the frustration but idk man to me that was a little rude id lowkey be pissed but again thats just me. with that being said, GET TONY BROTHERS AWAY FROM REFING OUR GAMES!!! the brother clearly hates us. every single time he always wants to make our games interesting smh. any way this was his best series especially defensively. hopefully it continues

So we're watching a different sport because in basketball , you're not allowed to smack the forearm of the offensive player during a drive/a jump shot attempt
