Look how Tatum just muscled by number 2 in paint for the basket.
@Paul_pp2 жыл бұрын
Tatum put up 39 against Durant in the cruical game 3 on the nets homecourt which put the series away 3-0. Against Giannis in Game 6 down 3--2 on the Road in hostile territory against Giannis Tatum put up 46-9-4 on 7-15 from 3pt and 10-17 inside the arc to extend the series to a game 7 and now in a game 7 on the road and the Finals and season on the line he shines in the 4th with those 2 late buckets to keep the lead in double digits. Tatum just turned 24 and is going to be the face of the leauge. Hopefully Next season Jayson and Jaylen start getting the respect they deserve and Tatum can get to the line like Butler Durant and Giannis do on superstar calls.

I love the Tone Tatum set early by getting the first offensive rebound and taking it strong. 26 pts 10 reb 6 assist 4-7 from 3pt with 1 stl and 2 blocks on the road to go to the finals. He made an absolutely huge side step 3 pointer with 5:53 left to put the Celtics up 12 and His fade away jumper with 4:30 left and 2.3 seconds on the shotclock vs Butler to put them up 10 was a Superstar Shot that can't be defended. Those 2 shots in the 4th with under 6 minutes to go to keep the leads in double digits is Why Tatum is First Team ALL NBA. All this done in a defensive battle too where Celtics held Miami to 96 points with Tatum playing 46 of those minutes. Tatum is a two way wing and the King of the East this season.

Not his best scoring night. Yet, he affected the game. He stayed in attack mode. On to the Warriors!

That's fine because he's always being doubled or tripled team sometimes with shadow help defenders but he's growing into his own finding the open guys while being poised and control.

I was thinking the same. Marcus Smart can't be the one with the ball in the dying minutes of the 4th quarter in close games. It was almost like he was doing all he could to lost the lead. But miraculously we didn't lose it.

Need to see some more pull up jumpers or post fades from Tatum. he knows he can hit those shots. heat defense collapses on him the entire series, he needs to be more patient and hold his dribble. Jaylen brown figured that out in game 7 which lead to multiple easy layups for him
@user-wl9ig7yb6r2 жыл бұрын
Heat doubled JT all night, I actually thought he picked his spots really well tonight. He missed a couple of easy ones but outside of that he played a very heads up game and didn't let the doubles swallow him as much as we've seen before. Jaylen looked better because he was the main beneficiary of that gravity Tatum draws.
@BrickPB2 жыл бұрын
agreed! he was shooting those so much in his first few years in the league. not sure why he rarely does now, thats one of the best parts of his game
@user-wl9ig7yb6r2 жыл бұрын
@@BrickPB He stopped taking them as much because he was actually really bad at them percentage wise (high 30's), he just took a ton of them. The biggest adjustment of his career was turning those into threes. It's a shot he has for sure, but it's not one he should be relying on.
@Jake-nn8oh2 жыл бұрын
@@BrickPB yeah his rookie playoffs highlights show a lot of pull up J's and fades. this years playoffs we see him more driving to the hoop or taking the occasional side step/pull up 3. he really flourishes with the pull ups at like 18 feet which we rarely see now. butler did a ton of that this series. JT can easily hit those at a high percentage with his smooth jumper. shot at 3:55 is a perfect example of his lethality from this range. hoping we can see some of this in the warriors series
@brantonioj10982 жыл бұрын
No. He does not need midrange, spinning, contested jumpshots. Real Celtics fans know that. When he attacks the cup and hits 3s, he's First team All NBA

@@WestbrickFansGotNoBrains yea people are annoying me when they keep acting as if Tatum had 50 one on one opportunities. The Head always had an extra help defender nearby is Tatum attacked. When Tatum has the ball in his hands he gets guarded heavier than any other player. He gets swarmed everywhere on the court...behind the 3 pt line, in on the elbow, and on rim attacks.
