I have noticed that the lenses that are being made now have coatings on the glass to help minimize color fringing and flaring. Nice to see the price down and affordable also. Cheers!

I pre-ordered the day it was announced after 1-2 reviews. Unfortunately, I did not get the discount LOL. This is so inexpensive that it was a no-brainer just to have in the bag. I only have Sony GM or Sigma lenses. Viltrox has been killing it lately.

Great video, Jason Hermann. I just got mine today and initially thought my focus was off and not right and then I realized the lens is just bit soft at f2.8. Also had to crank up the contrast about 20%, then it looked better. Still fine enough. Overall great value lens that tells Sony to start lowering their prices now. Best Wishes to you.

I have a 16mm 1.8 and a 24mm 2.8 G sony. I really want to get this one just because how cheap it is and I mostly use it for vlogging but i can't decide yet.

I have the Tamron 20-40/2.8, so I have no need for this lens. However in combination with the Tamron 28-75/2.8 G2 it could make sense.

Great review as always. i wanted to make a suggestion. since most of us don’t own or use gimbals, it would be nice to see a part of walking footage with just camera and the lens using active or dynamic stabilization ( if available) i would love to see how a7cII ‘s active stabilization is

Great suggestion and your right I should have included that for those interested! I personally don't like the way the footage looks when hand holding so I opted to not do that, but I here ya and thanks for the feedback 👍

@@Q8Webmaster It's going to work pretty good, but not butter smooth like on a gimbal. The lens itself has no stabilization, so it's just the sensor stabilization with a fairly wide angle lens. You can definitely hand hold it while recording statically, but walking and filming will be pretty ruff in my opinion.

The 23mm f/1.4 will be a little better for maximum background butter, but otherwise I would go with the 20mm f/2.8 for the insane value and overall quality. Size is not an issue....

Not really no... What did you have in mind? Full frame vs APS-C pretty much, but the A6700 offers 4k/120 which is nice, and the A7C II offers better sensor stabilization and of course full frame coverage... I currently own both cameras, but there is so many comparison reviews out there I did not think it would be worth the time to create another video honestly? Perhaps I should!

Most people rent one or the other. You own them both. I think that perspective is worth watching. I think. Not about which should you buy. More of why you choose one over the other from day to day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I appreciate the feedback 👊 I got the A6700 specifically for the 4k/120 and HD/240 slow motion abilities, plus the fact that the lenses are smaller and lighter due to the crop factor sensor. This makes the a6700 a better option for bringing in the woods on the trail when riding mt bikes in particular, but also quads and dirt bikes.... That was my thoughts on why I wanted the A6700 specifically over the A7C II for example, which is my go to camera now for everything else I do. The A74 I am using in the studio currently and plan to also use that for more professional work when the dual card slots for redundancy is required....
