I think the other line at 4:40 goes harder, cause it's a call back to the pain bar. "the haters wanna hurt me and I'm laughing at the pain" When he talks about his **haters** or **enemies** he laughs at the pain they're trying to cause. But the bar at 4:40 eludes to the fact that he doesn't wanna think about how his **allies** or **close ones** only see him for his fame and status he starts to say "it hurts me just to think and I don't do pain" At first he's laughing at the pain, but when the pain comes from close by, it hurts harder

Nice reaction . I liked how you paused when you had something to say and rewound a bit every time you did. Summary of the song in my interpretation is how artist when they gain success how they start to lose humanity. Their line how the character fame ruins their ability to be a normal person , example being the "touch me, Midas" line . As we know King Midas had a touch that made everything he touched turn to gold . Of course some of the references in the song are obscure so it's not easy to tell what the meaning is and how it fits in what the rest of the lyrics are . One of those obscure references is the line "I feel fear for the very last time" Is from this comic/movies? called Watchmen Where a certain character stops becoming a human to then being a God .

"touch me midas" means the artist doesn't mind beaing dead if he dies leaving behind gold. "Make me part of your design" he wants to be a cultural relic. He wants to leave a golden legacy and be a cultural icon when he dies and if he dies early. Live fast die young.

"Touch me, Midas." He's referring to the king in Greek Mythology who turned everything he touched to gold. One day, he accidently touched his daughter, killing her.
