David Paton, the lead singer, wrote it but how much money he got from it is unknown. I would hope that he did because David joined the Bay City Rollers briefly but never recorded with them because he saw how their manager, Tam Paton (no relation, I think) was screwing them over. Eric Faulkner and Stuart Wood should have been rolling in it from the money they would have made from the huge-selling songs they wrote for the band but they barely saw a penny.

Alan Parsons was the producer on this album ("From The Album Of The Same Name"), which is how he knew Paton, Ian Bairnson, and Stuart Tosh in the first place. So when he and Eric Woolfson needed session musicians to record "Tales Of Mystery And Imagination", Parsons recruited the members of Pilot and Ambrosia (whom he'd also worked with, having produced their 2nd album "Somewhere I've Never Travelled").

RayRay 711 it’s so weird isn’t it... your listening to songs and you think I know what should go with this song. They’re forever connected too and there is more that I’ve decided should always go together. I’ll give you another of mine. Men At Work and Down Under with Mungo Jerry and In The Summertime!
@RayRay-zt7bj4 жыл бұрын
@@zoemn24 Hmm, that's interesting, as there is a big-time separation between those 2 songs. I guess sometimes it is just from a memory of a good time like on a vacation or something we hear these songs together. It's like the Beatles song Yesterday and Hushabye by the Mystics go together for me. I once made an 8 Track tape recording of a mixture of Beatles and DooWop music. So, now, every time I hear the end of Yesterday, Hushabye comes to mind. It was just a great mixture of a slow song and a more upbeat song afterward.
@zoemn244 жыл бұрын
RayRay 711 I wonder sometimes if it’s just a case of them making me feel similar feelings when I listen to them and it really is that simple. But I think you are largely right. In this case however I’m wondering if it’s a pilot/jet connection maybe.
