The fabulous Jaywalkers, in live performance at Marsden Americana & Bluegrass Day, presented by True North Music on 22 June 2024.
Jaywalkers are Jay Bradberry (fiddle, guitar, lead vocals), Mike Giverin (mandolin, guitar) and Lucille Williams (double bass) and hail from Cheshire, England. They draw on influences including folk, bluegrass, jazz and country music and have cemented their place as one of the most talented, entertaining folk-Americana bands in the UK, since reaching the finals of the BBC Young Folk Awards back in 2008. The trio has toured across the UK and Europe, and has released four albums to date. This spectacular version of the old jazz standard Ain't Nobody's Business is also enlivened by the band's characteristically humorous response when the house lights come up unexpectedly in the middle of the song (when a volunteer steward leans on the switch) and they don't miss a beat! Artist performances were filmed and livestreamed from our one day festival of Americana, bluegrass, folk and roots, at Marsden Mechanics in the village of Marsden near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, UK. Filming by Northern Cowboy Films and live sound by Joe Rusby. With thanks to Arts Council England for the funding support for our local live music series 2023-24, which along with ticket sales and sponsorship contributions made our one-day festival of folk, Americana and bluegrass a great success, and enabled us to pay for high quality filming and livestreaming by @northerncowboyfilmsuk9217
