Correction: Apparently, it's possible to fold the 2nd row seats although I wasn't able to figure out how to do it while the car was with me.
@GentlemanJamesWin Жыл бұрын
Yeah nah, I am pretty sure you were right the first time. Note if the middle row in the 6 seat config could fold flat, the center console would still stick up.

Thank you for this comprehensive review! Much appreciated that you even showed the fuels consumption.

With the Diesel just around 4-5 pesos cheaper than the Gasoline and the Diesels higher maintenance. The CX8 or any Gasoline powered Crossover vehicle makes more sense now.

We have owned the CX8 for 3 years and we have never spent a single peso in maintaining the car thanks to yojin 3! The CX8 really makes sense lol 😂

@@pierceyu4546 That's good to hear. So how's the fuel efficiency rating of your CX8 then and the maintenance after the Yojin 3?
@pierceyu45462 жыл бұрын
@@paolosy1293 Yojin 3 is almost at the end but with regards to our other Mazda, maintenance is like any other Japanese car. However, the car is quite thirsty averaging around 7-8km/l in the city, 8-9km/l mixed, and 10-12km/l highway. :)
@paolosy12932 жыл бұрын
@@pierceyu4546 That's great to hear, it has an affordable maintenance post Yojin. As with regards to the FC, i think it has something to do with the Power to Weight ratio. The body and the AWD system is quite heavy for the 2.5 N/A engine. I heard there will be a turbocharged engine to be launched real soon, that might have a slightly better FC.
@pierceyu45462 жыл бұрын
@@paolosy1293 yup! Though the car isn’t lacking in power at all, I would love to have that extra 20 hp lol. Also, the one we own is the FWD 7 seater model.

Mazda, hoping in the next gen SUV/Crossover models, AC vents will be provided for the 3rd row seats. Thank you

Great review! Though you can fold the second rows seat flat. There’s a latch/handle you pull up at the bottom side of the seat to fold it flat.

I don't think that is correct with the 6 seat config. Can you link to a photo with the seats folded flat? Note the center console would still stick up.
@pierceyu4546 Жыл бұрын
@@GentlemanJamesWin yup, the center console will kind of stick out. The furthest most right seat in the 7 seater is the same as to that of the 6 seater. We own the 7 seater :)))
@GentlemanJamesWin Жыл бұрын
No, they are not the same. The 7 seater middle row can fold flat, the 6 seater middle row are captains chairs, they even have ventilated seats for example.@@pierceyu4546

At 5:11, I'm sad to see that Mazda would install an El Cheapo steel prop rod to support the hood. To see this fine vehicle with such a feature truly does cheapen the overall effect when viewed head on. In today's high tech world, prop rods should go the way of the Dinosaurs. Mazda's main competition in this segment is the current Ford Territory Titanium, and soon to be released, the upgraded 2023 model, based on the Ford Equator, to be named Titanium X. Both the current Territory Titanium and it's 2023 successor, have a full panoramic roof and, just about every other feature available. The second row seats do not fold flat due to it's center console. For myself, that'd be a deal breaker right there, preferring a full flat load area with What I need to transport. In regard to prop rods, one can only imagine the reason they're still employed by most Vehicle Manufacturers, is because on a production run the cost per over gas struts is way cheaper. Also I guess, to re-employ the sprung hood hinges that graced the vehicles of the early 1950s, and 60s would cost more than a steel rod. Sprung hinges worked just fine if lubricated with either dry lube or a smear of grease from time to time. The hinges on my Father's 1967 HR Holden gave no trouble at all right up to when it was sold in 2006. I'm still waiting for the day when a top line variant model's hood can be opened remotely from the key fob. Given that the heavier tailgates of SUVs cope well, hoods would present no problem at all. That would indeed be something to see. Naturally, the original method would be retained on base models. All that aside, Mazda still turns out quality vehicles, and I thank you for sharing this video. Cheers, and drive safe...
