Agreed i run 3200 mesh and my ram is 3800 cs16 and 4.9 might be slower than 4.8 due to power draw of that chip. Per core overclock and 5ghz may work for 6 cores, with the rest at 4.7 for certain benchmarks. Have fun wirh hours of tweaking.

Nice video. Enjoyed it. Stressed cards get hot. So if you want your cards to stay quiet and not go to full fan speed, simply construct the JayzChiller2.0 then plug in a room AC unit. The card fans will be whisper quiet with this upgrade. And do not worry about that jet engine AC unit sitting behind you. After a couple weeks of use, your body will naturally stop being able to hear that frequency of noise any more... LOL.

I got two 2080 Ti's. Preordered the first and it was pretty underwhelming out of the box. A nice BIOS flash to 380w brought it to life. But my second one was good, both FE's btw. With EK blocks. The new one does 2145 MHz and 16.5 GHz VRAM. A great example. Paired with 7700K @5.1 GHz does 15,500 roughly Fire Strike Ultra.

I hope no one buys 2 graphics cards for SLI. It was the worst decision for myself. I did it purely for deus ex mankind divided yet it didn't support SLI.. Even dishonored 2 was a disaster. You are better off getting the fastest single card.. Such as 1080ti or 2080ti if you can afford it

Yes, it's expensive, but this is cutting-edge for the consumer market. He did just take a couple of world records, after all, with a roughly $6000 - $7000 USD setup. That's actually relatively cheap for a truly top-of-the-line computer, historically speaking. I'm 35, and I can remember when I was a teenager an apex-level system would run you several times that, and that was back when the dollar was actually worth more than it is now. Of course you don't need anything close to this to enjoy gaming, even at relatively high settings and resolutions (my i7-7700 non-K and GTX 1070 setup still does everything I want it to do), but if you want to have the best of the best in anything, you're simply going to have to pay up.

Cutting edge is only expensive because there is no competitive market for the GPU's. I will stick to my 1080P gaming for now because the price when compared to what I get is not something I am willing to pay. But by all means if you want to go ahead and enjoy.

I'm not going to be buying anything remotely close to this any time soon. Number one, as mentioned, I'm happy with my current setup. Number two, I'm grateful to be doing "okay" financially after working for 18 years, but I'm not doing "drop $7000 on a new rig when gaming isn't even my main hobby" okay. Yes, AMD getting their crap together would help bring prices down some, but as I said, top-end systems have ALWAYS been expensive, and are actually significantly LESS (I wish I could use italics instead of caps... sorry) expensive than they used to be. It isn't the fault of the current state of AMD vs NVIDIA that cutting edge costs a lot. You pay "bleeding edge [or early adopter] tax" with top-the-line ANYTHING - computers, cars, guitars, tools, heck even sewing machines. That's just life.

Ok, it seems great if you listen to all the hype, but I've bought New NVIDIA cards and both times I've come away feeling burned. It seem that everyone is in such a rush to bring the newest "Next Best Thing" to market that making sure it's bug free isn't happening. Cards like the 980 ti Hybrid & the Aorus GTX 1080 ti (I've owned both) released with major bugs in the 980 ti's BIOS that made it go Black screen for 2 or 3 seconds while gaming. Something that will end your Sim Race. EVGA did replace the card for me with a brand new card the had a yet tested BIOS which fixed the problem. I replaced it with the Aorus GTX 1080 ti three days after they hit market. This card is amazing and has worked flawless for 7 months. But thin card crashes started. Everyone is blaming someone else. I was told it was most likely heat. New it ran 53C, 7 months later well into the 60C's. So, I did the water cooling loop from hell. Now at Ultra setting my max CPU temp is 38C and max GPU temp is 48C. Did that stop the crashes? No, and Gigabite techs still pass the buck. Save your money and your sanity and wait a year to buy that new peace of tech.

Never had much trouble with SLI... Only a couple of titles that I didn't care for anyway. Since the 8600 gt..

I used to run tri-SLI, and even SLI with the 295 GTX, so it was quad SLI. Anywho SLI doesn't work worth anything, it introduces micro stuttering (generally, not always) which makes me motion sick. Also game support for SLI is pitiful, it's just not worth it anymore.

Some of it is driver related, some stuff is related to the games, it's not flat out stuttering I'm talking about, it's micro-stuttering, meaning it looks mostly smooth but not quite right yet the FPS is high, but you'd swear it's just not running as smooth as the numbers say - and it turns out it's not. That micro stutter, which isn't an issue for everyone, would physically make me motion sick - but other people would say it looks fine. It's like with old CRT monitors, if someone had a refresh rate under 75 the monitor would make me physically ill and I could clearly see it flashing, but others would say they don't see any flashing at 60hz and it didn't bother them in the least. So again, some people I'm not sure would notice, but someone did a big writeup years ago, maybe Anandtech, and they were the first to hear talk about micro stutter and how games were not actually running as smoothly as the FPS said, in particular it was at that time with Crossfire, which I had, and it was a bit of a scandal for a bit.

I'm a long time SLI user. I have 2 RTX 2080s Founders Edition (non Ti) coming with NVLink bridge. I just wanted to sell and replace my 2 GTX 1080s. The 40% performance boost with same power consumption as my current setup is worth it to me. My current monitor is a 1440p G-Sync 165Hz panel. I don't recommend most folks to do like me but I know that ray tracing at 60 fps will require NVLink anyway. I also noticed that Ghost Recon Wildlands only sees 11GB of Vram, not 22GB, so unlike Quadros, GeForce NVLink doesn't scale Vram or maybe it's a game by game implementation.
